Ronnie Brown is so overrated

By who? lol

I barely hear him get mentioned outside of FFB talk as an annual "sleeper" (who obviously never pans out).

The guy will make a solid RB2 for Philly. Right up there with any back up tailback so long as he is healthy.

Who is our back up right now? Sammy Morris?

Uhmm
A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio Brown got $1 million in base salary, plus a small package of incentives.
We should have taken him for that amount.

If Vick can keep improving and adding on on how to play QB and not RB,the Eagles could be a 14 or 15 win team.

vick fell of as the season went on. In the last few weeks he straight up sucked. He will get hurt, miss atleast 3 games and suck atleast 3 games..that said, I think Vince Young would do better anyway.

WTF?

Did I miss the part where VY stopped being anything other than a useless pile of crap?

I just dont think Vick is as good as people think. I;m not all on his schlong like a ton of other people..when you go from being a scumbag in jail, to a scumbag who runs around with a football, people think you are great..well, he's not that great. I think BB will draw up a game plan to shut him down without a problem.

saying they go unbeaten is a joke, that team wont even win the NFC East.

Whose winning the nfc east in your mind then?

If Eagles aren't winning the NFC East then who is? That division went from one of the toughest divisions two years ago to what looks like an absolutely mockery this year. I bet the AFC West averages more wins and only the NFC West will get less.

The Eagles are the only team I see improved, and they were pretty good last year, a few plays short of knocking the superbowl champions out of the playoffs.

I'm going with the cowboys..and trust me, I am no cowboys fan and I base that on nothing at all, lol...excpet that in the nfl, you cant base what happen last year on anything.

Honestly guys, this is just a name signing. It's not concerning nor should it change much at all.

If Vick had the balls to swallow his ego and hand the ball off to LeSean McCoy more I'd be fairly concerned, but he won't and signing Ronnie Brown won't mean much at this point in time.

The Eagles still haven't addressed their offensive line or their linebackers.

Winning Championships is not about collecting talent. It's about building teams. The Eagles have gone the flashy talent collection route before to no avail... Reid keeps getting portrayed as this great HC who can pull it all together only he never really has. And that included when he had Jimmy Johnson coordinating his defense.

NO WAY...they are like the Heat, and the heat won the NBA championship..oh wait.

Philly will lose just 3 games this season.13-3 is my prediction.

So handing the ball of to McCoy is Vick's call? Since when has he called the team's plays?

Ronnie Browns Runny Brown.. flows like diahrrea out of the backfield

Did you happen to notice Vick's trend towards holding the ball at all last season? I sure as hell did. As a matter of fact I kept screaming for Vick to give the ball to McCoy (as he was on my Fantasy team) with gushing holes to run through. No no no, those bootlegs weren't Andy Reid.

lol what? They won the division last season and every team in the division has either taken a step back this off-season or remained the same while they have added the 2nd best CB in football, pass rush help, another top 20 corner and depth in the backfield.

Reasonable to suggest 13-3 is probable. There's a few 50/50 games dependent upon form, but the Eagles do look to have a decent schedule.

Funnily enough, I think the Rams may be a good test in week 1. They've added some very nice pieces in the pre-season thus far.

Nice pickup of a player that fits the roster

It's funny, before free agency started many here thought of all teams that most likely would take a step backwards this year, it was the Philadelphia Eagles.

Now I'm not saying that they haven't improved, because quite obviously they have; but a couple of things to consider.

You can't simply look at a schedule and say a team should be favored to win "X" number of games, and therefore that is their probable won-loss record. If that were the case the NFL would have several 15-1, 16-0, 0-16 and 1-15 teams every year - and that just doesn't happen. Injuries, a letdown, bad luck, 'any given Sunday'; the likelihood of a team winning all the games they are favored to win is very small.

Let's take a look at the last few seasons at how many teams went 13-3 or better:
2010: (2) - (1) 14-2 team; (1) 13-3 team
2009: (3) - (1) 14-2; (2) 13-3
2008: (1) - (1) 13-3
2007: (4) - (1) 16-0; (3) 13-3
2006: (3) - (1) 14-2; (2) 13-3
2005: (3) - (1) 14-2; (2) 13-3

Five teams in six seasons have gone 14-2 or better. That works out to a 2.6% chance of a team having 14 or more wins. Ten more (5.2%) have gone 13-3. That's a total of 15 in six seasons - an average of just two and a half per year.

Yet people are so confident of the team that opponents seemed to have figured out as the year went on, that last on the first round, is going to win 14, or more in 2011? And let's not forget that money of the teams on that list were not expected to do that well; the number of teams people predicted to win 13, 14 or more games, and those teams actually doing that is ridiculously small.

And as for the odds of going 16-0, here's a couple of thoughts. First, it's only happened once since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule 33 years ago. Second, an NFL team having an undefeated regular season almost never happened even when there was no salary cap; it happens on average about once every thirty years! 1942 was the last time it occurred prior to the Dolphins doing it in 1972, so enough with this nonsense about predicting (i.e., expecting) an undefeated season - regardless of what team it is that is being discussed. You may as well be predicting Megan Fox (oops, make that her replacement, Rosie Huntington-Whitely) will not only be at you corner pub next Friday night, but she'll go home and spend the weekend with you.

It's not that 13-3 or 14-2 never happen; it's just that they so seldom happen I don't understand why that would be expected, which is what a prediction is.

Eagles are going to be nasty on offense for the first 6 games of the season before Ronnie is done for the year.
