"After weighing his options and contemplating offers, he's decided to retire," said Randy Moss' agent, Joel Segal.

The Rats must have made him an offer....only reason I can see why he'd retire...that's the ultimate slap in the face

Best wishes for a post football life Randy!

Wow.

Can't say I'm too surprised, but I expected one more year outta Randy.

Thanks for some good years, Randy.

Wow his career ended fast. Pro bowl in 09 to retired in 11. Thanks for the memories Randy can't wait to see you in canton.

No, the ultimate slap to the face is if Branch were to go down midseason and he signs with us for the vet minimum. :D

Shadow roster anyone?

I doubt it. Price will take his place.

I'm thinking the same thing.

I guess Bill doesn't forgive and forget.
You'd have to think that if BB reached out to Moss he would have come here.

Wow, this hurts inside, I don't know why.

I'm surprised. I mean, he's not a #1 WR anymore but he could make a team somewhere. He's a better #2 or #3 than most teams have.

Wish him all the best though. Thanks for some incredible memories.

Chris Carter saying on ESPN that Pats wanted to sign Randy Moss to a 1-yr deal. Take it for what it's worth....

I don't think the game will ever see anything quite like Brady to Moss ever again....

You can't play pro football without the desire to lay it all out andit was obvious last year that he no longer had the desire to play. I willl wait to see if a team lures him back with $$$$, but either way I think he has checked out and is essentially done.

I certainly appreciated his contributions to the Patrots success.

I'm thinking the situations he found himself in after he left the Pats left a bad taste in his mouth and he wasn't just going to go to any situation and just hang out.

Also put into the equation that it doesn't seem any teams really were interested in going out on a limb for him in the cash front.

He really has nothing to prove, but I am a bit surprised in that it seemed to me he had more in the tank if he really wanted to do it.....maybe I'm wrong on that.

I'm going to miss him really....I enjoyed watching him play on the Pats and prior to the Pats....a definite hall of fame talent.

I'm really shocked by this! I wish Randy nothing but the best. Great memories he gave the fans of New England.

Interesting info from Cris Carter...

Chad Ochocinco got the 3 year deal that Randy Moss wanted, so it sounds like Randy might had been a bit insulted by being offered only 1 year.

The Jets offered him a 1 year deal, but they also offered a 1 year deal to Plaxico (which he promptly accepted).

The list was a short one, as opposed to last years bout with TEN.
