Pats dodged a bullet in Heap

Interestingly, the Cardinals and Panthers appear to be bringing in some decent acquisitions this pre-season.

Okay, to be fair, there haven't been a ton of FA's beating at the Pats door like yesteryear either. Kraft, himself, went hard at Jason Taylor last offseason . . . only to watch him sign with the team he said he'd never play for . . . a team coached by Ryan. Peppers opted for Chicago after all the talk of how interested the Pats were in signing him. Those are just two high-profile players that chose to go elsewhere knowing that NE was highly interested. I'm not flaming you, as you're one of the members I have a great deal of respect for. I'm merely saying sh*t happens.

Except people haven't been saying for years that players are willing to take less to play for the Pats. Or that most of the players in the league would kill to play for Belichick.

My point is for the most part, money talks. No matter what the media and Jets fans think, players are not going to take less and will do anything to play for Ryan.

And unlike last time the Pats played him, the person covering him wont be at 3/4 health with a torn groin.

I'll always respect Ellis for playing like the warrior he was.

Makes that blitz all the more asinine. I need a drink.

Same here, but let's move on.

The 12 drinks I already had makes it a little easier to handle.

Where did James Jones end up?

Even if people haven't been saying it, it doesn't change the fact that it's always been the perception and, in some ways, continues to be the perception about what players are willing to do to be part of NE's winning formula. Again, I see your point and I'm not flaming you in any way. Again, I'm merely saying that that's just the way it is sometimes.

As a Pat's fan, I'm glad that all of these people are going elsewhere. It was already hard enough to beat the Jets. Could you imagine a team with some of the people that could have been? Moss, Aso, and Heap are just some of the names that have been associated with the Jets this offseason. Those are all scary names to have to play against two (and possibly three) times a year.

I believe the report I read said that GB managed to retain his services.

Thanks.

Hope we see GB in Indy.
If someone forced me to pick a second favorite team, it would probably be the Packers. I also really like the Saints.

So whoever wins the superbowl last then? :D

Funny, but no actually. I like the Saints because I have always been a fan of Brees. I like the Pack because they're a really good team that overcame a rash of injuries, including their QB, to win it all. Anyone who can't admire that in a team shouldn't watch football.
