How popular are the New England Patriots right now?

With two big signings, I would say right now it's 1.Red Sox/1a. Patriots. The Sox have done great this Summer and have more of a buzz compare to last year when they miss the playoffs. The Patriots second most well known player is Chad Ochocinco, given that Chad has tv show on MTV.

Area wise the Pats are neck and neck with the Sox. Nationwide the Pats are regarded as scumbag cheating scum.

You are wrong. The Pats overtook the Bankofamericasox in popularity region-wide several years ago. This has been confirmed more than once by local radio surveys. The NFL is MUCH bigger than MLB regionally and nationwide. The only place where baseball reigns in this area is within the city of Boston -- it's a small but very hardcore traditional fan base.

LOL don't kid yourself. Boston cares more about the red sox 2004 and 2007 championships than they do the 3 pats and all the celtics titles.

Red sox also have more fans worldwide that often take over road games.

We all may love bill but the rest of the world still dislikes him for the most juvenile of reasons.

Several years? I dont know which local media is your source but Red Sox rating went down only last year, Patriots overtook them on that 14-2 season, then Bruins did it during the Stanley Cup run a few months back. Now,this time, it's all about the Red Sox.

How about the Boston Globe survey of best sports moment where Adam Vinatieri's kick in XXXVI beat the last out of the 2004 World Series? (Admittedly it'll be with a sports writer explaining how the fans are wrong -never mind how the Globe is a silent partner in the Red Sox ownership.)

Just like the Pats had their time right now. I don't see the Patriots being this big when they start sucking. The Bruins I agree. Though the Red Sox are second in die hard fans out of the 4 Boston teams.
