Ty Warren will visit Denver this week too.

Mike Shanahan said today that the Redskins would have cut defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth if the Patriots had not traded for him. According to Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network, however, the Redskins had another potential trading poartner-they almost traded Haynesworth to the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos are desperate for defensive tackles so it is unknown why they could not consummate this trade. They have money problems so that could have been the issue. The Broncos may have dodged a bullet. Haynesworth may find some motivation to actually play for a contender like the Patriots but likely would have been a headache for the rebuilding Broncos just like he was for the rebuilding Redskins.

Good find,triumph:rocker:

Refresh my memory but wasn't Rodney Harrison about to sign with Denver back in 03 when we called up? If I remember right, he was actually at the stadium about to sign a contract when his agent told him the Patriots just called.

Or am I just insane?

As much as i was excited about the Haynesworth trade, i dont want to get my expectations up until he actually shows up!

Im not sure, but I remember that the Pats picked Rodney up at the Airport in a Ford Taurus and Rodney said something like "this is my kind of team" :D

Rodney will always be one of my favorite Patriots. It will be a travesty if he does not make the HOF.

then the pats took him to the Ground Round for lunch.

He hit Troy Brown.......Hard.

Not too worry; Haynesworth won't be a Patriot for long; Denver is welcome to him then...

On WEEI today the over-under was 8 weeks

I'm unsure if I classify you in the Jets or Colts boat of fan annoyance, but you're up there.

Nah, just typical Fred negativity. I'd be worried if Fred actually approved of the deal.

Be worried. I am love the Ocho signing. To paraphrase "Earth Girls are Easy"...Ocho will be a hero but Haynesworth will be a zero.

Not that I pay much attention to the local media, but shouldn't the over-under be like week 1? If the guy's a cancer, he's going to get cut long before the season starts. No way BB lets him languish on the sidelines for 7 or 8 weeks.

Who cares if Denver almost had Haynesworth. Almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and Nuclear Bombs...

As for Fred, he's just a blind squirrel and a broken clock is correct more than Fred is..

he would have crapped out in denver like he did in washington

he's a guy who wants to win now, NE is probably the only place who can turn his ass around

Correct. Haynesworth needs a strong established coach if there's any expectation of him doing well.

No knock against Shanahan but Haynesworth felt that with what they were paying him there was little the Redskins could do to truly punish him.

Things would not have been good in Denver.

EEI blows they also said BB would never come to the pats becasue he tweets too much

There was no such thing as a tweet when BB came to the Pats.

I'm presuming that was a typo and what cambrifgepatsfan4 meant to say was that EEI was of the opinion that Belichick would never bring Ochocinco to the Pats, because he (Chad) tweets too much.
