I heard part of his radio show today and for a guy who played multiple years in the NFL, he really doesn't have a clue. I thought the funniest thing was that all Belichick does is the 3-4 and part of his argument was that every year the Pats have won the Super Bowl, Belichick had them playing the 3-4 all year. The thing is that the didn't play the 3-4 in 2001 after about week 2 or 3. From about week two or three in 2001 until about 3/4 of the way through 2002, the Pats played near exclusively a 4 man front. Granted you gotta give Wiggins a free pass on that because he might not have known that because he was only on the 2001 Super Bowl Patriots team. Seriously, did he not see the Pats in the 4-3 every day when he went to practice and in games?

Wiggins doesn't belong on the radio/TV, he's just not real bright or insightful. He lost me permanently a while back on 98.5 when he said what Michael Vick did (felony gambling conviction, killing dogs) wasn't nearly as bad as what Roethlisberger did. He also has surprisingly little of significance to share about the Patriots.

Well, some are of the opinion that Roethlisberger committed rape and would place that beyond Vick's crimes. Not really a crazy way to feel about it.

If the allegations were proven I might agree with you. They weren't and I don't. What Vick did was reprehensible and deserves no defense.

I guess it is whether you believe Roethlisberger is guilty or not. The procecutor not pursuing charges is not an endorsement for innocence.

Back to Wiggins, he has said enough stupid things that we can pick and choose more. His really bad East Boston accent is annoying too.

Wiggy Wednesday is must turn off radio day.
One day he said Francona cant manage under pressure, this was in regards to a game last month in June, the man's won two world series and countless playoff series.
He tries too hard to say something insightful and dumbass comes out instead.

Listening to him and Mazz at the same time made me want to drive off the Tobin Bridge.

HEY......lay off easta' boss:nono:

I used to eat lunch at a quaint Italian restaurant in East Boston back in the early 70's......they served "grape juice" in a big jug and had ties cut off and tacked to the walls with business cards attached....think it was called "Tony's" or "Anthony's"...go figure

Great italian food and no atmosphere.....

always went back to work a bit happier....:D

The context of the whole discussion was that black athletes always get hammered by the law, and Wiggins was going out of his way to defend Vick by comparison. That's what got me po'd. For the record I'm not sold on Roethlisberger being innocent either, but Vick sure as hell deserved what he got (and probably more).

I wanted to really give Wiggins a chance on The Hub because I thought it would mean more football talk. Instead, he seems more interested in proving what he doesn't know about all the other sports. I even saw him on one of the Boston television station's Sunday night sports wrap, and there he was, looking uncomfortable as hell in a suit, talking about baseball. Whoever thought Wiggins was media material needs his head examined.

He somehow manages to bring racism into almost every discussion

Now there are just a few italian restaurants left in eastie.Jevelli's is still there after like a hundred years. It's all hispanic, now.Even the Italia Unita Summer Festival is no more.....Sad.....In with the new,out with the old....."more's the pity":(

Got nothing against Eastie, but Wiggins' accent is so bad it is stereotypical. Thick acccents are never good for radio.

Whoa, Rape is much worse than killing dogs. The dogs thing wasn't even the felony, that was the gambling across state lines. But yeah Wiggy does suck on the radio he pulls the race card on every topic.

Let's not lessen what happened. The prosecutor didn't press charges because, among other things, the security tapes were mysteriously taped over and the crime scene was scrubbed down with bleach. If people had integrity, Roethlisberger is in jail right now.

Wiggie is fine. He is not a douche which makes him OK in my book. If you want to hear what real football guys have to say and not white guys who have never played....he is one source. Sure he is not well spoken but he is a footballer after all.

Would you rather listen to Lou Merloni talk football? Lou is a nice guy and never a douche and has something to say about baseball but he is not a football guy and has an unpleasant accent.

Can barely speak English and when he does likes to shout, not very informative, racial agenda. I think NFLN should hire him immediatly, he'd fit in perfectly.

Again, the guy knows so much about football that he doesn't even know what defense Belichick ran when he was on the team.

Personally, I would rather listen to Lou Merloni talk football. I think Merloni knows more about football than Wiggins and that is no compliment to Merloni.

For a guy who played the game for a number of years, it is shocking how little Wiggins actually knows about the game.

I agree rape and multiple accusations of rape are worse than the dog thing.

That's true. Rich man's justice is a "wonderful" thing.
