Ty Warren failed his conditioning test and his physical. After being released, he said others failed their tests as well. Wonder who those players might be?

Cannon?
Crumpler?
Hernandez?
Brace?

im guessing Deadrick and Pryor did to cause they are on the Active/PUP list

Anybody have an idea what this conditioning test consists of?

im not sure but i think if they come into TC like 5 or 10lbs Overweight they fail that could be why so many DL and OL men faild

Here is a link to the conditioning test Ted Bruschi used to have to perform: Tedy Bruschi and Mike Reiss break down the New England Patriots heading into training camp - ESPN Boston

"Tedy: My test was three sets of ten 50-yard sprints. You had to complete each sprint in seven seconds, and you had 30 seconds in between each sprint. In between the three sets of ten 50-yard sprints, you got a break of three minutes."

That amounts to running a mile in about 20 minutes, which is pretty leisurely but it is done in sprint bursts which are not all out but are not jogs either. It really seems a test of maintaining the right pace during the sprints so you don't gas yourself early.

I imagine this test must be different from player to player though; an athletic athlete such as hernandez should have no problem with this. For the fatties on the other hand, this might be a monumental challenge.

He failed his physical too?

Rapoport just tweeted:

Patriots reported to the league that Ty Warren failed his physical. Warren said a hammy kept him out of conditioning run. Same thing?

The Patriots also reported to the league that TE Alge Crumpler failed a physical. Same with Stroud, Kaczur, Tony Carter and TBanta-Cain

So there are the answers :D

So if it's true as someone posted that Stroud, Kazcur, Tony Carther, TBC, and Ty Warren
all failed their physicals, does that mean that the Patriots cut players who were injured, or just who couldn't pass the conditioning drill? Stroud, Kazcur, TBC, and Warren we know were previously injured at one level or another.

Brings me to my question: I thought under the old rules, you couldn't cut players who were hurt, unless you came to a financial agreement with them. Have the rules changed?
Anybody know?

I thought the old rules were that one could not cut anyone if they were injured after they passed their physicals. However, one could not be on the roster at the start of training camp unless one passed a physical.

Interesting question in my mind is whether the Patriots consider the conditioning run as part of the physical. Do they?

One of the reasons Antoine Smith (sp?) used to fail every year: he was a big body at 235 grouped with some of the lighter, faster players like Faulk and the receivers. They run all the RBs together.

Makes it tough on guys like Smith and probably Ridley this year. Easier on guys like Edelman and Woodhead.

You and I could probably pass the conditioning test for DTs.
