Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

Light, G. Warren and Tracy White would all be upgrades.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

IMO, Light would be much more important than the other two. Much more.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

Tarpinian is taking White's spot

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

I only want to keep Light out of those three. I think Tarpinian will take over for White and I don't want to cut any of the young guys just to keep G. Warren. It's about as likely that Warren regressed due to age that Brace/Deaderick improved at this point.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

First, Pryor may or may not come back from his injuries. Second, it is LOVE that I am suggesting upgrading.

I certainly hope that Brace and/or Deaderick will step up. They will certainly make the squad.
Belichick has always believed in having grizzled vets on the squad who could step in as needed.

Agreed. I don't want to see Solder protecting Brady until Scar has had plenty of time to work his magic.

G. Warren knows the system and we could really use the depth. Especially if Haynesworth flames out (a distinct possibility IMO).

And Tracy White was quietly a special team god last year. I suspect Slater may be a victim of the numbers this year, and we'll need to make up his ST contributions.

And I think Love is fine and should not be upgraded, especially by someone so old.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

Warren and Love are players in different positions.

Don't want to hand Solder the car keys yet. Need to bring Light back. I'm worried about our starters at de (Haynesworth and Brace). Terrified about lack of depth. Need G. Warren for that and hope B. Deaderick has his act together. I see K. Love as backup NG and Mike Wright as rotation guy/situational pass rusher. White was a good special teams player last year.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

I think they definitely should and are going to add a veteran DT. Not saying that player makes the team. Warren or Jacques Cesaire someone of that caliber, maybe even Shaun Ellis if the price is right( I doubt it would be).

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

Yes and no. BB played his NTs at DE and DEs at NT in different games, based on matchup. I'm pretty satisfied that on first down, BB would play three NTs across his front if he could.

I 100% agree with OP, those three FAs are upgrades to what we have right now. What a luxury it would be to allow the #19 overall pick in the draft the opportunity to grow into a role on a veteran squad. On any other team, he would be taking every blindside snap, for better or worse.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

We have a bunch of cap room, why settle for the return of G. Warren? Why not Cullen Jenkins?

Light I will agree with. Ellis I would take as a short-term, cheaper guy than Jenkins, but we have plenty of young guys who can give what Warren gave for a lot less money.

Either REALLY improve the position or let the young guys take it.

And much like the 2 massive new TE's (Solder King's and Off the Grid's respective binkies), I am also on board the Sciz train with Tarpinian.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

It's been two days since the reports of an agreement with Light was close. What's up?

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

If someone beats White out, then that's fine, but it seemed like he was the first guy making contact on most of the kickoffs last year. He was a valuable STs player for sure.

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

Bedard is reporting that Light is re-signed -- at least, I think he is:

"Patriots - They didn’t have a lot of holes to begin with, but receiver Chad Ochocinco will give quarterback Tom Brady more options and will help the offense pressure defenses horizontally. Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth will be the biggest reclamation project of Bill Belichick’s career. Haynesworth may be done, but at least he should be able to occupy some blockers. The three-man line of Haynesworth, Vince Wilfork, and Mike Wright is sure to open up pass-rushing lanes. And we expect that Belichick isn’t quite done. Keeping the left side of the offensive line intact with tackle Matt Light (re-signed) and guard Logan Mankins (playing nice with the franchise tag) could wind up being the most valuable moves of all."

Re: Light, G. Warren and Tracy White

As I noted in #14 on this thread, Matt Light appears on the roster page and I suspect his resigning has not been announced yet.
