Can't the NFLN do better than Sapp and Dukes?

I've been watching a good deal of NFLN this past weekand I need to ask this question. Is there is a more annoying pair than these two?

I have to say I despise Jamie Dukes, I hate everything about him starting with his whiny, nasally, high pitched, over enunciating voice, his idiotic **** eating grin, his moronic zoot suits, a three hundered pound slob wearing a suit jacket that goes to his knees, very professional. Speaking of professional he always tries to get a jab in when going to break, much like a thirteen year old girl would do. All this could be forgiven if he ever had a coherent point about anything. Babbling nonsense is the only way to describe his speaking style, problem is when ever someone challenges his buffoonary, his immediate response is to get more whiny, more nasally, more idiotic only at a much louder volume.

Warren Saap is just an unstable, unintelligent lunatic who sounds like he has a third grade education. He seems to have no control of the volume of his voice, his bodily movements or his crazy eyes. I'm just waiting for the day he finally snaps on camera.

Special treat today, joining these two winners is the Michael "The Crackhead" Irvin. I'm pretty sure I saw him hitting the crackpipe when the camera panned away from him. Pretty much everything I said about Sapp applies to Irvin except for the fact that Irvin never speaks in any other tone than homicidal maniac on crack.

And Marshall Faulk is just extraordinarily stupid.

Charlie Casserly looks like Frankenstein and it frightens me when I see his face.

Albert Breer looks like he is in pain whenever he is forced to speak on camera.

If I see that borderline racist, Pepsi tanned Polar Bear commercial one more I will be forced to smash my TV.

Willie Mac was on a few weeks ago and I thought he was very good, I would like to see more of him on the network. Maybe he hasn't been back because you could understand what he was saying, wasn't screaming and actually spoke intelligently about football. Maybe the job doesn't pay enough, that's the only reason I can think of why Dukes is on every show.

I'm with you mate. It's done my head in, the lack of critical analysis and intelligent thought on NFLN this week.

I really hate Jamie Dukes as an 'analyst'. He is so blatantly rude.

I like Casserly and Breer. I also like Lombardi and Eisen for the most part.

Many former players they have are just annoying.

Casserly reminds me of the little nerd in elementary school who always couldn't wait to tattle on everyone. Breer always has a look on his face as if someone just broke wind under his nose.

I know one is in NYC and the other in LA but I'd love to see NFL network use some of NFL radio's talent like Tim Ryan, Pat Kirwan, and Ross Tucker. You get quite a football education from those three, among others.

Over/Under: 15,000

Number of times Warren Sapp sarcastically says "jedi mind tricks" when referring to Bill Belichick.

Sapp is a hater..

Dukes is a fool..

Faulk is a smug little baztard..

Their agenda's are obvious, and there objectivity is non-existent.

The NFL Network is starting to morph into just about every media outlet, instead of reporting what is going on, it becomes a forum for their agenda and self promotion..

There is so much going on right now in the NFL want to watch this channel, but it is painful to watch.

At first I loved the NFLN, mostly because it wasn't espn.

But after a while I couldn't really tell the difference. Want to know why?

In my opinion it starts from up above. The President and CEO is Steve Bornstein. What did he do previously? He was the chairman of espn.

So instead of getting an alternative to espn (think Sirius Radio, for example), fans simply get a wannabe duplicate in terms of what the talking heads say and how they act, for the most part.

Unfortunately television is 90% or more copycats (just look at how many so-called reality shows there are with identical formats, for example) and anything original gets nixed because executives think the mass public is too ignorant and too set in their ways to accept change. But with this business model the NFLN will never be anything more than a distant also-ran to behemoth espn, who is firmly entrenched as "the world wide leader of sports". They have two choices: accept that fate, or roll the dice with something different. But as long as Bornstein is in charge, and there expectation are relatively low, that's not going to change any time soon.

I would rather listen to Sapp's instability then Marshall Faulk's blatant hate for BB and TFB. Dukes isn't much better, but I can get through a show with him unlike Tom Jackson.

How about that nfl "play 60" commercial .. It's stamped on my brain .. I sing it at work .. feels like that's the only commercial they have .. and the pepsi polar bear ..

I like all their analysts who didn't play + the coaches.

Eisen, Casserly, Lombardi, Charles, etc are all between OK to great. Eisen is surely the savior of the network in my opinion. Billick and Mora are pretty good too. Can't stand Faulk, Sapp, Dukes, or Irvin though. I like Sanders, he never adds a whole lot but he is entertaining.

Glad someone brought this up. First off, Dukes hates the Pats. I don't know what the backstory is but there's an ax to grind somewhere. Beyond that, this is a man who likes to hear himself talk and takes his opinions maybe a little more seriously than they deserve.

Fran Charles worked in Boston at one point, either channel 7 or 25, I forget which.

Wow dude, that's pretty hardcore hatred. If you don't like, don't watch, but goddamn dude could you imagine being taped giving an opinion and having someone say something equally scathing as what you wrote? Damn man, smoke some pot and look in a telescope. You need some perspective, man.

If I get some perspective, will you get a sense of humor?
