Re: Kyle Arrington signs new contract

That's a pretty crappily written article.

2 years for a total of 3.25 million if he hits his escalators.. Doesn't say how much the escalators cover.

Salaries of $600K and $850K for the 2 years..

What's a "huge amount of money"? Even if they gave him 1 million up front, that's not a "huge amount of money"

Re: Kyle Arrington signs new contract

Leigh Bodden, McCourty, Ras IR Dowling, & Arrington now locks.

Bulter & Wilhite fighting for last spot.

Good for Kyle. He improved tremendously last year.

They're now here for injuries and trade value. I suppose there's a chance we keep one of them, but only a slim one. They better play amazing ST.

Excellent point. The fifth CB may not be on the roster yet.

Re: Kyle Arrington signs new contract

Since Arrington was an ERFA and locked in for $525K, he received $2.7M for the one year extension, with a bunch of this upfront.

$2.7M isn't bad for one year as backup.

That being said, I'm glad that we extended Arrington and locked in our backup corner. We are now set with for 2 years with McCourty, Bodden and Arrington. We also have Dowling, but I expect that his future is at safety.

Finally, Arrington might compete with Butler/Wilhite for reps at nickel.

And yes, I know that Arrington is also an emergency linebacker.

They mention in the link that his agents also represent Guyton. I was just thinking that the contract reminded me of his. They gave Guyton a little more than what they had to give him, which is a nice little low-cost appreciation bonus.

Good news for Patriots fans Friday night, with Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reporting that cornerback Kyle Arrington has signed a two-year contract....

Re: Kyle Arrington signs new contract

Last year before the Jets games Holmes was so feared .arrington covered him for most of the games well.so someone holding holmes down is pretty decent.

butler cameback towards the end after whilite went down and arrington got nicked.
