Will Yeatman Scouting Reports!!!

#193 ~ TE ~ Will Yeatman ~ 6.6/270

Will Yeatman, in my view, has more Up Side than any classical ~ 90% Blocking/10% Receiving ~ Tight End in this Class.

He is raw as hell, but he is the prototypical size for the job, and he commands astonishing athleticism.

Will Yeatman is a ferocious Blocker who commands great natural dexterity ~ honed through years of playing LaCrosse!! ~ and who has only just tasted his incipient Navigational Liquidity in running the Route Tree.

He commands nothing less than All Pro Potential as a mauling, crushing traditional Tight End...and with surprising Agility and Instincts as a Receiver!!

And yet he projects as a Free Agent.

God Bless America.

You make me crack up man, in a good way. Sign me up ;)

Sounds like the guy has potential. There seems to be some disagreement about his agility in the linked reports.

BB just LOVES drafting TE's and Lacrosse makes it a double joy for him......watch for Yeatman on the PS if he's got anything at all.....

*** Mods?? Can I persuade you to delete the other Will Yeatman thread, please? ***

I'd rather have it here in the "Gen Pop", so nobody can claim, later, that they didn't get a chance to join!! :D

Will Yeatman was one of my SUPER BINKIES!!

He is the ONLY Blocking Tight End that I ranked ahead of Lee Smith, this year. I can't BELIEVE we got them BOTH!!! :rocker:

Both he and Smith are candidates for O Tackle Conversion, but I hope that ain't the plan: The more Tight Ends of ALL kinds we get on the field at once ~ Tight Ends, Flex Ends, and Wing Backs: Crumpler, Hernandez, and Gronkowski ~ the better!! :D

Good point!!

I put a lot more weight in Wes Bunting at NFP then in Draft InSider, though, to be honest with you.

Right on!! :D

I concur about he P Squad, as he's very raw...And because he is, I would expect us to be able to slip him through...

I still dream about 4 Tight End Sets, though!! :rocker:

imho Crump is surely gone w/ Lee Smith and this guy inked. Yeatman to PS would be fantastic. Lee Smith to take Crumps spot I bet:)

Nothing was better leading up to the draft than Brother Grid's write-ups on his binkies.

Glad to see you got one Grid!

"incipient Navigational Liquidity" - I mean does it get any better than that?

6.6 270lbs

Isn’t he a bit undersized for the new big beef Patriots ;)

Are we sure he's going to be a tight end? At 6-6 270 he might be able to transition to tackle in a few years (especially since he'll pork up when he's not running all over a lacrosse field).

It's going to be very difficult, baring injury, for him to beat out Lee Smith, the guy they drafted, who has a similar body and skills set.

they'd love to get him to make waivers and stay with the practice squad if all goes according to predictability, but with the excellent talent we have at this position other teams very well have their eyes on him.

I just think that BB realizes that the Jets have the Revis fellow who shuts down the WR he faces so he's responding with another weapon they haven't been able to shut down, the big, athletic TEs who can also block.

Nope.

Like I said, his name ~ and that of Smith ~ have been floated as potential Convertibles since last Autumn.

Not my preference, but...whatever gets'm on the field, man!! :D

I loved the Yeatman signing too! He was one of my top UDFAs I wanted to grab. I'm definitely in the fan club! He has more potential than any of the others. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to Aaron Lavarius who was also high on my list.

Couldn't agree more, and on all 3 points.

The most likely scenario, I think, is that we try to slide him to the P Squad, and succeed.

I expect that his rawness would shy other teams away from committing a spot to'm, at this point.

***

Another very possible scenario is that Crumpler or someone else gets hurt and starts the season on PUP. That, in fact, is one of my favorite aspects of this move: Coach Bill now has no less than THREE High Caliber Blocking Tight End talents in the stable, which is absolutely AMAZING, because every one of them is a SAVAGE, BRUTAL BLOCKER, and can go a LONG way towards establishing a 40/200 Line for our Ground Game on any given day...

And yet every one of them has the athletic talent and the cerebral skill ~ once Smith + Yeatman have enough experience ~ to lay down an 8/100/2 Line at the drop of an HAT, if Defenses are foolish enough to assume they're only here to block.

So much for Defenses GAME PLANNING us!! :rocker:

We now command extraordinary Depth of Talent at the absolutely vital and potentially dynamic Tight End Trifecta ~ Tight End/Flex End/Wing Back ~ and the consequences could be EXPLOSIVE.
