And I'm not talking OLD guys either. Justin Blalock. Harvey Dahl. Rich Seusbert, etc..
And I think that Tampa could be a dark horse for Nnamdi.. They had a TON of money to spend.. and haven't spent a lot yet.
Philly could be another place. What a terror they'd be for teams with Nnamdi and DRC back there.
Hopefully the Niners feel the heat. They can definitely offer more money and the next CB on the market is Cromartie. Meh.
I'm not trying to nitpick you, but there's a reason tampa has a ton of money to spend.
EOM - What's that reason? What I know is that their best CB in Talib is a suspension waiting to happen. Beyond that they have Ronde Barber and a bunch of scrubs... Adding Nnamdi would be a huge benefit for them and would help them spend some of the money they HAVE to spend. It would go a long way to solidifying their secondary, as well, as they have two good safeties in Tanard Jackson and Sean Jones, plus they added Ahmad Black.
Don't write off Tamp Bay. Unlike the last couple of years, when ownership was more than willing to be able to spend as little as possible, the rules in this new CBA make it imperative that they do spend their available funds. Signing Nnamdi Asomugha would put a sizable dent in that very large amount of cap space that they need to use between now and the end of the season.
because they don't like spending money.
not saying it can't happen -- just sayin'.
The 49ers and the Texans were also in hot pursuit, but now the Joseph deal presumably eliminates Houston from the race. But Tampa Bay -- which has been relatively quiet in free agency thus far -- has also been in the mix, per a person with knowledge of the teams competing for Asomugha's services.
The Bucs are WAY under the cap and need to spend quite a bit. Word is they are $59 million under the cap. Not good news for the Jets. I mean the Bucs could actually afford to take the hit for all the guaranteed money this year alone.
It has been reported that the Bucs will be $59 million below the projected $120.375 million salary cap for 2011. What's more, the league committed to spending 99 percent of the cap in cash for player salaries and bonuses.
