I was just looking at the FA tracker and there is still a ton of FAs out there. They technically haven't even gone to FA yet.

Could they still get Lawson or Roth?

If Haynesworth is $5m to the cap and we can pretend they restructured Ocho to $4m on the cap... was there any room left?

I still think they add someone who can contribute at OLB.

I"m smelling cuts and restructures :)

I think these pickups are better than anyone imagined, but they most likely aren't done. It's only been 3 days.

They're not done in free agency, but they won't make a splash as big as either of these two. Lots more little splashes on the way.

Still 4 positions that need upgrades or competition/fallbacks:

OLB
OG
RB (main runner, not 3rd down guy)
LT

If Light re-signs, that will take it down to three.

1 more area of work...OLB....Matt Roth anyone

They havent done anything in FA yet.

I dont think they are done yet.

Hopefully the next move is to re-sign Mankins to a long term deal (+ cap space), re-sign Light to a short deal (- cap space) and then cut Kazcur (+ cap space). Hopefully that results in a little more cap space and improved OL depth.

Agreed. I think they'll try and get Roth or Lawson or some no name. Remember, they can still cut Kaczur(assuming Light gets resigned), restructure Mankins, cut some dead weight and still have plenty of money.

Nnamdi anyone?

Khayos - If they cut Kazur, then yes. There is room. Plus they have the 3.5M Vet exemption. Which is where I think they put Chad..

Their next moves should be to get the rest of the draft picks signed, then get Mankins to a long term deal...

WOW.

What a DAY!

:rocker:

1 more trade to go...Osi Umenyiora come on down!

With Hayneworth to aid the Pass Rush, now the Pats can go get a fully capable 3-4 OLB.

Manny Lawson can set the edge well, and drop into coverage, excellently. He has good, but not great pass rushing ability. But they can afford and don't need that as much, now.

I want Manny Lawson as the final touch...

Sign Mankins long-term and save some money, resign Light, and then trade Kaczur to save some more.

Couldn't agree more.
