We need a receiver like him. Always seems to be open and doesn't drop many balls. Can you image Brady having a WR like him?
Is he a FA after this year?

Isn't he over 30?

I think he is. Be nice to have a pro bowl type receiver like him for Brady to throw to.

The Rams offense is so irriatating to watch. They get anywhere inside the 5 they hand off to Jackson (when everyone and their mother knows it's coming) and after he gets stuffed, they throw 3 straight times to Holt or one of their 18 annoying lilly white tight ends.

Yes, I am a frustrated Stephen Jackson owner in FF.

They are moving the ball on the Bears pretty good. I know the Bears don't have much to play for. They have the Best record just about wrapped up.

Forget about Torry Holt. You might as well say we need Urlacher.

However Kevin Curtis is a UFA this year, he might be attainable.

Let's get Harrison, Tomlinson, Peppers, and Bailey while we're at it.

What I mean is a SOLID #1 receiver. I was using him as a example. There are a lot of very good receivers. The Pats just do not have one of them.

And they haven't had one in the Belichick era.

i would take merriman or taylor or bailey for a standout widereceiver any day

We don't need a No. 1 like Holt in FA. What we need to do is draft and develop someone like Branch and Givens to line up with Jackson.

Despite the vitriol, Branch was a productive player here. He was a 2nd round pick who didn't cost a lot of money and developed into a good player because he clicked with Brady. I dont think it's easy to buy that through FA. if it was, Dan Snyder would be swimming in SB trophines.

Someone like Bernard Berrian would be a nice addition though I don't think he's a FA.

Lets get one next year. We have plenty of draft picks or get a FA.

Laugh if you will but with a season under his belt, Mr. Chad Jackson could be exactly who you guys are wanting.

Too bad about Chad Jackson. Other than a couple exceptions, we've been horrible evaluators of WR talent draft or FA.

I hope you are right about Chad Jackson but we need another WR next year no matter what. We can't hope he turned out to be good or we have the same problems all over again.

I don;t know about that. Branch and Givens were 2nd and 7th rd. picks

Donald Hayes was also a flop but no big loss. We missed on Bethel and PK Sam.

WR is a tough position to draft IMO. So many variables to success.

I don't know many Pats fans that are happy with the passing game this year.
Unless we can a few new receivers next year I don't see it improving. Draft them in the late rounds or pick up some FA but I believe we need help.

We've only had one bust, Bethel. Branch and Givens were successes. The FA have been mostly low money shots. The guy from Carolina was a bust, yeah, but Caldwell has been fine for what we paid and Gabriel only cost a #5.

Who is a FA WR this year, than is the pats willing to pay for the FA?Or should we epect the same WR core? Brady is so good,we should not waste his time.

The FA WR class for 2007 is very poor. Drew Bennet, Kevin Curtis, Keenan McCardell, Kelly Washington, and Earnest Wilford are the best that will hit the market. I do not believe that a single one of these guys are a legit #1 threat. I am not sure any of them upgrade what we have. If the Pats want a vet WR they will need to trade for one which is why the Moss rumors will start screaming on this board again.
