...... will you be irked (and please don't say they took care of it in the draft with the Markell Carter pick)?:)

I for one will be irked if we have to go another year watching opposing QBs eat picnic lunches before they throw their passes.

Re: If the Patriots don't sign a player........

We have enough young players on defense that this defense could look entirely different this year WITHOUT any additions. Granted this could be a positive OR negative change, but I'm willing to see how Cunningham, Ninkovich, Brace, Pryor, McCourty, Chung, Fletcher, Mayo (yes, he's still getting better), and Spikes look before assuming it will be just like last year... when we still led the league in turnovers.

This isn't even including the hopefully healthy return of our best DE (Warren) and our best veteran corner (Bodden).

A signing would be grand (and expected, at least for depth), but I'm not cashing out if there's no big name additions here in the next month.

Re: If the Patriots don't sign a player........

I've been *****ing and moaning for the past 3 seasons because of the non existent pass rush. I don't expect BB to adress it yet again which baffles me.

Shawn Crable is a free agent.

Like TBC or not, he has led the team in sacks 2 years in a row. With TBC injured, it is nearly 100 % that a pass rusher is brought into camp.

I'm fine with the roster, the return of the injured DL and Bodden, plus Experience with the LB's in the system the D will be much better than last year including the pass rush.

And TBC will be released Thursday, per Schefter

I wonder if we finally see Jason Taylor on the Pats.

Lord, I hope not. I'd rather have Manny Lawson or Matt Roth. Not a matter of fans being irked or not. The question should be is our pass rush good enough to win a championship if we don't improve it? My answer to that would be doubtful.

You confuse and frighten me with your fancy words. I do not know this "pass rush" you speak of, I am but a Pats fan.

I do not expect Bill to sign an OLB, either through vet free agency or through undrafted free agency, of any quality whatsoever. This lack of activity will result, of course, in yet another lack of additional SBs.

I hear there's a guy named Ty Warren and another named Mike Wright that might be part of the plans this season.

....... the homers will tell us one wasn't needed. The team will go somewhere between 12-4 and 14-2 during the regular season. The homers will post "I thought we needed a pass rush" threads. The team will get bounced from the playoffs after not even coming close to the QB without significant use of the blitz. The non-homers will post "I told you we needed a pass rush!" threads. The homers will say "In BB we trust". Free agency and the draft will come. The cycle of Patsfans.com life will begin again.

It is the shiny beads once again, somehow this team went 14-2 with a "deficient" pass rush last year... somehow we were + 28 in turnovers.

I suspect that some issues will be addressed, but do not suspect a huge impact player..

You may want to rewatch that Jets game. They gashed us on the ground, exploited poor tackling in the secondary, and thoroughly shut down our offense until the game was already decided. But, I'm sure it is easier simply to obsess about the pass rush. Carry on.

How many times did Sanchez get sacked again?
