I honestly could care less if mankins pulls this bs again. Im worried about seeing Brady get there with Welker, Branch Edelman etc working with new rookies (who need to get signed and in camp asap) and working with the new RB's to get this offense clicking.

The funny thing about Mankins amid all the bluster is it's probably easier for him to report then guys flying or driving in from all over...he never leaves the area code...has been here all along this off season as he was last.

Early work out of CA is that Jackson plans to sign his tender. But we know how accurate the early word can be in his case...

Yes, still franchised. In theory another team could sign him to an offer which the Pats would have the opportunity to match; if they did not that other team would have to hand over their 2012 and 2013 first round picks to the Pats. Obviously, almost no chance of that happening.

As far as working out a new contract with Mankins, per the new CBA the deadline to do so is September 20. Once that date passes the Pats would either have to franchise him again or he becomes a free agent when the new NFL year begins somewhere around March 1.

Franchised players holding out during training camp has pretty much become standard operating procedure, so it wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Mankins does not report. However, once the season starts I definitely expect him to play; there's a huge difference between the weekly paychecks he would be passing up this year and what he was forfeiting by holding out last year.
