Who are big name FAs they could get?? They have to go to FA right? With TBC probably cut, thats 2.4 million off the books.

In a perfect world, Lamarr Woodley. But I think a move like that would get too many people excited and joyous so it's unlikely.

Adam Seward. Someone had to say it.

Eric Moore.

Is it me or would Mathias Kiwanuka make a very good 3-4 OLB?

What about Rosey Colvin ... I know its way outside the box, but Colvin tweeted that he is serious about coming back. It's a no risk shot to bring him into camp and see if he has anything left.

If they keep TBC and put him on PUP or if they cut him outright, Colvin knows the system.

everyone says that, but he's coming back from an injury that hasn't fully healed on top of having to learn a new defensive scheme. I guess I'm the only one that sees how getting Kiwanuka may be risky.

Eric Moore.

This....Cunningham and Ninko are the starters. TBC is a sub at this point anyway. Eric Moore is the 1st guy off the bench & sub-package 4/3 end.

The Pats have borderline nothing at OLB right now. They've hit the point where they have to take risks at the position, there's really no way around it IMO. Unless of course you enjoyed watching Mark Sanchez shredding our defense in the playoffs because he had all day to throw. 0 sacks 0 hits speaks for itself.

Eric Moore will overtake Ninko to start.

He's my fist choice. I think he'd be a good fit, as long as he checks out medically. Lawson is my number 2.

I'm sure that one of the multiple DE/OLB picks the Patriots took in the first four rounds this year will win the job.

OLB? Who needs them anyway? We could get ourselves a running back or two with the money and space this frees up.

What about the TRUE answers?

:D

I'm trying to find hope. Cunningham and Ninkovich as opening day starters, with Moore as the rotation, wow. To be fair, I've liked what I've seen from Moore. But, a 2nd year player and a JAG as starters, ouch.

IMO Bill wants 4 all around (run / rush / coverage) LB's. Then Bill can stay in the 3-4 and bring pressure from anywhere and disguise where it's coming from. Of course these players aren't easy to find especially when you add the measurable restrictions.

The guy I could see coming to us is Manny Lawson. He adds something to the OLB spot that we currently don't have (+ coverage ability). I've heard mixed reviews about his run support. His pass rush skills look average. So he seems to be what Bill would want (an all around player). I think he'd represent an upgrade over Ninko and would come a realistic price. He wouldn't take the defense to new heights but he'd be an upgrade and should be entering the prime of his career.

Clay Matthews is fairly average against the run. That hasn't stopped him from being an impact player.

The Pats OLB's appear to be situational opposite Cunningham atm.

Dane Fletcher. I think this former DE will be used as rush linebacker this season.
