Should the Patriots be favorites?

Re: Should the Patriots be co-favorites....

The defense has something to prove to get my vote for the SB

Yeah we went 14-2 but the offense and the crazy high turnover margin get much of the credit

I find it hard to imagine the team getting close to that T.O. Margin and that means the defense will have to step it up in close games and hopefully the postseason.

Right now I would lean the slight edge in the AFC to the Chargers who have an Elite QB but the team struggled to stay healthy last year, especially at WR and parts of the D and that cost them, the problem in SD lies with Norv Turner who is their weak link.

The high turnover rate was not a fluke. It is what you should expect from Speed. Theh Patriots Defense is young and fast. That is why they had the turnovers...

Re: Should the Patriots be co-favorites....

I like our chances more than anybody to come out of the AFC more than any other team. I don't think we are an over whelming favorite but we're the favorite none-the-less.

its a credit to the "team concept"....and BB. The Pats are again one of the favorites DESPITE having fewer so called "star" players than most teams

If memory serves me correct our team was viewed pretty much the same until we won our 2nd super bowl. Once we won the 2nd one people realized we must have some sort of talent and then started giving our players credit.

They may not be "stars" but Wilfork, Welker, Volmer, Mankins, Mayo and McCourty are def high end talent. If a few more youngsters join that high end talent group us fans might be lucky enough to see history repeat itself in NE.

Re: Should the Patriots be co-favorites....

No. Green Bay is the team to beat.

We have to prove we can beat the Jets when it matters.
Sure, because we lost to them once when it matters so that eliminates all reasons to have any faith.

Re: Should the Patriots be co-favorites....

I voted no b/c I still do not like the 3rd down stat and our D-Fence lacks proper pressure on a QB and by not applying it consistently the opposing QB will sit back and pick our D apart. Give me a Valid edge rusher or 2 and I would vote yes.

Re: Should the Patriots be co-favorites....

The Patriots are STACKED; they will win Super Bowl 4 in 2-3 years, if not 2 in next 5 years.

BOOK IT

didn't you get the memo?

You should really try to refrain from expressing your opinions.

Where did i say that i have lost all faith? I'm saying we shouldn't be the favourites to win it all. Green Bay is no 1.

I have a feeling we're gonna meet the Jets somewhere in the playoffs and they have given us problems recently.

You mean the team that only made the playoffs because the Giants choked away a 24-3 halftime lead against the Eagles?

All teams have issues; that's not the point. The question is what AFC team should realistically be considered better (or at least equal to) the Patriots in getting to the Super Bowl. I don't see one that I would be favoring.

Same team that almost beat us with their back up QB. Same team that had even more injuries than we did. Same team that dominated other playoff teams offensively and defensively.

When it comes to just the AFC i think we are one of the favourites.

Mines the Patriots vs. Packers/Eagles.

What two teams do you think could make the big game in Indianapolis?

Jets vs Jets. They always win this time of year.

I'm taking Cardinals/Seahawks - Raiders/Bills

Considering this is a Patriots board, I'll say the Bills from the AFC just to be a stinker.

From the NFC I like Detroit. No seriously. The Lions.

Patriots vs. Eagles in the greatest Super Bowl game of all time!

Saints vs. Eagles.

Wait . . . that can't be right.

One would think it'll come from the usual suspects;

AFC - Patriots, Steelers, Jets, Colts (they do have Manning), Chargers.
NFC - Packers, Saints, Falcons, Eagles, Bears.

way rigged to get the colts into his sb.idc about nfc

I don't know about this year, but I'm putting my money on the Giants versus the Jets in 2014.

I'm too biased to pick the AFC. My NFC pick would be the Falcons.
