Ras-I Dowling Highlight Video

Dowling was rated in the middle of the first round going into 2010, but injuries lowered his stock a bit.

Dowling's character is perfect for the patriots, he is a hard worker who loves the game, he has the size and skill combination which has eluded the patriots secondary for a while now, he will be a great complement to Mccourty going forward.

ehh how does Derek Havens get any credit for an article like this? Anyone who has had an interest in Dowling and has searched him up on youtube, this is the first video that comes up. I saw this like the day he got drafted lol.

When this whole lockout situation is resolved, I can't wait to see what Dowling can do at the professional level. If he is the type of player I hope he can be, I'll be ordering my Ras-I Dowling jersey by mid-season.

Did I just watch a Kesha video or a football highlight reel? That was the worst highlight film I have ever seen unless you meant "Highlight" in a much more literal sense as in "IM GOING TO PUT GLITTER ON EVERYTHING".

Can't tell who is doing what half the time when everything is glowing and blurring.

After this clip there were some links to some of the draft day clips at ESPN when Dowling was picked. It was interesting that Kiper said that he wasn't a great tackler, but (at least in this highlight clip) the thing that stood out to me the most was what a GOOD tackler he was was. He didn't just tackle guys, he stopped them in their tracks.

Granted a highlight reel isn't the best scouting venue, but he showed in this clip that he was very willing to "put his face" in there and make a form tackle. None of this throwing his body at someone's knees crap.

Make me more hopeful of this kid's success.

Kiper has never been wrong once, listen to him.

ahahahah. good one.

but seriously, from what i could see in that video, it looks like dowling is more physical than his future partner, Devin McCourty. I am going to be very happy with this pair at CB.

I love the fact that the Pats added a rookie corner with legitimate size and not another 5'9" guy like Terrence Wheatley or Ellis Hobbs, but it does concern me to a certain extent because it seems that Darius Butler is officially entering bust territory.

It is certainly a make or break yr for Butler, no doubt.

He will officially be a Wheatley type bust if he does not show improvement this yr. He does, however have the potential to make that step, and there are many of us who would not be surprised to see this happen.

I too, love the near 6'2" size of Dowling, the speed and the obvious athleticism that he shows. I am however, concerned with his injury history, as he has often shown a tendancy to have nagging injuries.

As long as he stays healthy, I don't think there's any doubt that he has immediate potential. He's certainly quick and shifty too, which may be able to help should he luck up and get the ball in space.
