wtf... I have always HATED HIM He is BRUTAL. Tito put together another awful SP, while disregarding STATS that showed Toronto OWNS him over his career.

In Conclusion- Aceves should have been the SP today and we could have used Lackey in Baltimore, but good old Tito is clueless to baseball numbers and his BP and when they struggle.

Thnx for the Early Fireworks Tito and Lackey:bricks::bricks::bricks:

Personal stuffs and injury aside this has been a bad signing for the Red Sox. Better to cut our losses soon and bring in some better pitching.

It's OK to admit you were wrong Theo. Lackey and the Sox just isn't working out.

Today 2. innings - 9 hits and 7 runs ... I hated this guy as an Angel and now I hate him more.

Why didn't Theo call me first before signing this azzhole.:mad::mad:

It's impossible to defend Lackey any further so I'm not going to bother. The turnaround we'd hope for isn't going to happen. It's time he was sent down to Triple A to find some form or traded away.

he was a desperate signing... that was the year we missed out on Tex.

I'll Take my man A-GON 1 million times over Tex.

Can Lackey be optioned to Pawtucket? Will he refuse assignment? He is a POS

Hindsight is 20/20, I highly doubt any of you were up in arms when we signed him.

Agreed. I ave no problem admitting that I was happy about the move. There was no reason I know of to anticipate his sudden decline.

I was ... it's documented here in our forum ... hated him as an Angel, hated we signed him and hate him now ... hate as in player hate of course.

Prove it!!!!

Oh man :ugh: ... I will need to go into Red Sox fan therapy to learn to like him. Next to Scioscia he was my most hated Angel... I will need some time with this one.:rolleyes::rolleyes:;)

I get the whole I'm a sick Turkish mobster and will murder everyone in my pathway but Icy's been consistent in his dislike for John Lackey as a baseballer.

Thanks ausbacker ... I do not even watch the Red sox when he pitches ... I can't.

Angels bats look dead ... I'm guessing we get to lackey by the 4th inning and then kick their butts from there.
In other news El Caballito is still o-fer.

Yeah and I could easily add lackey to my Angel hate list.

I have to say John Lackey and most of all manager Mike Sciosia drive me nuts ... especially Scioscia with those beady friggin' eyes and that stupid look on his face ... I want to throw darts at him.

Difference b/t not liking a player and thinking he's a bad pickup, though.

Very little ... :violent: ... he has time to make a fool out of me ... let's hope he does.

If that's the best quote, it isnt much. He said he'll need some time..ok, that was the feeling of most fans seeing that mouth breather in a Sox uniform. I didn't see complete outrage.

Not saying this is Ice, but I see a lot of people trying to act all smart in hindsight like they wouldn't have made the deal at the time. He shut us down badly in 2009.

I'm not really sure what you're attempting to prove. In my experience if you have the perception of not liking someone you're not going to think signing them is a good idea. It's common sense to make that link.

Lackey's had time and is getting worse. For whatever reasons they are they need to be sorted out by Lackey for his sake and the Red Sox. How long is "he needs time" going to cut it? Year 5 of the 5 year deal meaning he pitches like a siv for 4 of those?

When you pump 82.5 million dollars into a top of the rotation pitcher you expect him to be able to locate.

Very little ... .

Really? I always thought they were very different -- part of the reason a player can be liked when he's on your team but not an opposing team.

(extreme example: if we could have picked up Jeter post-Nomar, I would have thought he'd be a good addition to the team, despite disliking him and thinking he was overrated.)

I hope he does, too, but I'm not sure how much time he has.

(I think he's injured. Guys don't usually just become terrible out of the blue.)

Hope you're right ... Lester has problems now also.

even if he pitches well - I still won't like him though. :robot:

At least they're being smart w/Lester. Sucks for him to be out, obviously, but you don't push it.

You have to wonder given the prevalent injuries for the Red Sox around the same time of year if the Strength & Conditioning staff might need an upgrade?

Seems like an all to common occurrence unfortunately.

Lackey pitched well tonight against the triple A oriole team.

He still sucks until he can beat a quality team ... but I'll take the win and he still is ugly. :p
