Just spec, but it feels like déjà vu all over again...

The injury bug is killing us again. I can't imagine other teams have had the kind of consistently traumatic injury situations that we have had over the pats few years - I mean, Special Teams? Don Davis, Mel Mitchell, Tebucky Jones.

Defense? Junior Seau, Rodney Harrison, Geno Wilson, the annual 2 or 3 Richard Seymour injuries?

Offense? Maroney, Chad Jackson, the O-line...

I know it doesn't account for everything, but conditioning has to become a discussion at some point on this team.

Anyway, for the Maroney Injury, just apply the following BIP ("Belichick Information Pattern") to this injury (tried & proven through a majority of the injuries the Pats have had under his watch).

It typically goes like this:

Press Conference - Day of the Injury: "He was shaken up a bit, but everybody's got bumps & bruises. He's okay. I'm not a doctor. We'll know more tomorrow."

Monday or Tuesday: "He's a little banged up. I'll find out like the rest of you will - when the injury report comes out."

Wednesday - Injury Report: Questionable

Thursday - Injury Report: Questionable

Friday - Injury Report: Questionable

Saturday: "He didn't make the trip with the team. We'll have to compete with the players we have."

Week or two after the injury: Continue to repeat above + add meaningless media reports like "[Insert Player] was not at the portion of practice open to the media".

Week two or three after injury: "[Insert Player] was placed on injured reserve today."

Speculation, more like RANDOM BULLSH!T

I hear the conditioning thing time and time again, but when the players talk they praise the program here. A while ago Miller was saying that the program here extended his playing life 5 more years.. of course he is on IR with a bad shoulder now. There was a piece somewhere else posted today by Caldwell talking about the program here. From what I see injuries are what they are, and they happen pretty much across this league. There is nothing to compare it to, Seattle had period where Shaun Alexander and Hasselback were both out.

IMO the hallmark of a good team is they figure out a way to win in this marathon despite the injuries.

WTF. Where is your source to come to such a conclusion? Don't just stir it up. Give a reason or a reliable source.

It's just stupid what the fans say. Seau's broken arm had nothing to do with conditioning. Nor Harrison's shoulder. Every fan of every team whines because they notice their players getting hurt more. The Patriots have more injuries than average but they also play more games than average. You know, all those playoff games.

BB never gives any speculation ..stop trying to stir **** up. he practiced all week regularly..no limping and we saw pictures of him in practice smiling and talking to others

This thread should be deleted, it's stupid. Seriously stop this sh!t, people.

Talk about jumping to conclusions... :bricks:

The kid took a fairly stiff hit to the head last Sunday, but he was around all week and even told Tomase he was solid when asked if he'd play this week. Maybe he tweeked his back in practice (they are in pads) or maybe they are just being hyper careful with his first pro concussion or maybe BB thought he was approaching the rookie wall anyway and decided as someone else suggested to risk one battle to win the war.

Yeah, it's like a bonus bye week when he's a little banged up. We may still have 7 games left after this one.

That's not nice. I don't agree with him, either, but he has a right to his opinion, and history has proven what he says to be correct, in most cases...

However, this time I dont see it happening. I believe Maroney will be back next week, but in either case, he's entitled to an opinion.
It's not an opinion it's just made up ****.

Just like the First Amendment doesn't always apply - you can't shout "fire" in a crowded theater. Same thing. This should be banable on first offense in my world.

You said the same thing in another thread, so I will reply in the same manner that I did over there. Did I miss the playoffs?
Over the years. So far this year I don't think we have more injuries than average other than unavoidables like breaks. Wilson and Jackson are the only two with long term pulls, strains, etc, I can think of.

I think you owe him an apology.
I'll apologize with my middle finger. F*ck him. He didn't even write "Speculation", for all people know, Spec could be a reporter or short for a newspaper then he stated something as a fact. It's bullsh!t and the board should be better than this.

Since when did Conditioning have anything to do with CATASTROPHIC injuries such as Seau's arm and Harrison's clavicle, just to name a few?

You know, it would help if you put a question mark behind your statement next time. If you don't have any concrete information that LoMo is going to the IR you shouldn't make a bold statement like that.

I agree. Way to start a rumor.

You could say Tom Brady is heading to the IR if this logic is followed.

1. Brady lsited as probable.

2. Brady has terrible game.

3. Testaverde signed.

4. This thread is garbage.

Gotta go with the majority on this one. This thread was specifically started to stir stuff up. The OP should have known this would happen, and as I suspect he did, he gets what he deserves.

Stirring up **** is always fun on Sunday mornings...

"Spec" means speculation...no source...just an observation from years of watching Belichick report injuries...
