Pats moves

The Patriots made four roster moves heading into Sunday’s game against the Dolphins, placing linebacker Don Davis on injured reserve, signing receiver Kelvin Kight and cornerback Antwain Spann off the practice squad, and releasing offensive lineman Gene Mruczkowski.

An 11-year veteran, Davis is the 11th Patriots player to be placed on injured reserve since the start of training camp. His primary contributions have came on special teams (8 tackles), and he also provided depth at inside linebacker, a position in which the Patriots are thin after the season-ending injury suffered by Junior Seau.

Kight is a first-year player out of the University of Florida. He was initially signed on July 31, then released Sept. 2, before being signed to the practice squad. The Patriots dressed four receivers last week, with Troy Brown unofficially taking all but two offensive snaps (not including QB sneaks), so Kight adds another presence at that spot.

This marks the third time Spann has been activated off the practice squad, and the third time Mruczkowski has been released this season. Spann has played in five games, while Mruczkowski has yet to appear in a game this season.

The Patriots have yet to report any players who have been downgraded to out for Sunday's game.

Interesting moves...Davis gone..too bad..he was a solid player on St...Gene is here and gone and back..RyanO must be OK..but interesting that Kight and Spann are back...Kight will be a player..(ChadJ must be injured a bit more and out..amd I think that that may mean more passing..VERY interesting..)

We have lost a ton of ST guys this year, weird.

The injury bug keeps on biting...

Yes, but when you think about it, STs is where you have a great risk of injury with the requirement for heedless full speed against full speed contact. The fact that there are few ST plays per game mitigates against the inherent risk.

That's four, count 'em, four former Florida Gator wide receivers on the roster.

Reche Caldwell
Jabar Gaffney
Chad Jackson
Kelvin Kight

If the Bears ever get sick of Rex Grossman, we should pick him up. He'd be right at home here.

Is Tebucky done for the year?:D

And a bitter Michigan QB throwing to them - oh, the irony :D

I agree -- especially this year. Brady feels Michigan was robbed!

Lets give Reche his props though...he's playing tough this year. I would love to see hom torch his former team San Diego in the playoffs:p

As long as Brady doesn't throw any "spite" passes like that overthrown TD attempt to Vrabel a couple of weeks ago, he can be as angry as he wants. :)
