Maroney out
Rookie RB Laurence Maroney is out for Sunday's game, the Patriots announced tonight.

LB Eric Alexander, S Rashad Baker, WR Chad Jackson and OT Ryan O'Callaghan are also out.

More to come.

at this point I say give Bam Childress a chance

To put it as lightly as I possibly can, grrr.

like the last game at miami last yr ..so many people were out then ...davis also to IR...sometimes i think teams can build a 53 man roster with our IR list

So much for getting the wind knocled out of him :) Hopefully by doing this he'll be back at, or close to, 100% next week.

What the hell is going on with this team and it's physical conditioning
It's the NFL, players get hurt. On other teams too, believe it or not.

I'd love to see a study comparing the pats injury total(games missed) to other teams and how many IR players the pats have and how many other teams have.

It seems like the pats have more injuries that other teams

Woah. That's all I can say. It'd be interesting to see how our running game is gonna be without the other half of the weapon of grass destruction.

This normally shouldn't be that big a deal, but since Dillon is running at about 70-75% and our other RB choices can not get the job done......we may be in trouble here........Chad Jackson has been a BUST thus far....the guy CAN NOT get healthy....he should be IR'ed with the hope that next year he can come back full strength. At this point, the guy seems to be one of those career "injury report" guys who can never manage to get or stay healthy......Anyways, Miami is good against the run overall, so it may have limited Maroney's production anyways.....so......BB will figure it out..>>>>GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!

That's why we now produce ... Patrick Pass.

Oh, Mr.Bigglesworth, Don Davis becomes our 11th on IR, since you're counting.

We do. But I'm not sure about this year. The main missed games this year have just been bad luck (Seau, Harrison) that would have happened on any team.

But we also play more games than most teams when you include the playoffs.

thats 1 thing i hate so much about BB. he lists people as questionable and they go out. give us a damn idea..list him as doubtfull or something. he practices all week and cant go? im getting fed up with BB's little injury report game and im tired of our team having 50 injuries each year.

yes i know theres a word called "cautious" but **** hes a football player and we have not locked up a playoff spot and we have not locked up division.season is far from done for us.

Well he doesn't give a crap about what you think or know. He's doing what he thinks gives the Patriots the best chance to win the Super Bowl this year. I guess it's too bad he didn't discuss it with you first

The definition of "questionable" is a 50/50 shot that a player will play on Sunday. So, if a player is "questionable" and some players play and others do not, where is the problem?

Secondly, all we know about player participation in practice is what the media sees, which is very little. They see stretching, and if they are lucky, one round of drills. Let's say Reiss states that Maroney was "present for the media portion of practice," who is to say that he didn't stretch and then do very little else for the practice? We have no clue how much these guys actually do in practice on a daily basis.

because i read multi-times that hes done RB drills. tuesday he did drills but not full speed and then he did from there on.

questionable for other teams is usually a go.

my xmas wish is for a regular injury report..let us know whats really wrong and how severe. thanks and good night

Sorry Virginia, santa's not bringing you that one.

It is clear that BB thinks that the NFL "rule" of listing players' injury status is a joke. Besides, would you rather BB care what we think or that he is giving the other team just one more thing to think about as they prepare?

Maroney being out will give Corey the chance to lay down some hurt on the "GUPPIES". In DILLON WE TRUST. Get em, CD... GO PATS!

You also said this :

No-one is saying this means the season is done. But giving Maroney the week to get better might be what he needs to be strong the rest of the way. He's banged up and usually his season is over other than a bowl game. If we were to win the SB without a bye we still have 8 games to go. Maybe Belichick is risking the battle to win the war - sorry you don't approve.
