pathetic performance once again by the USA defense. This is exactly what I saw at the Spain friendly. The USA is all too willing to be pushed back into their own box and squeezing the passing lanes. Mexico is pushing it in but then pulling out leaving the USA defenders flat footed. Tim Howard is on his last legs.

If none of that makes sense then this will ... our best offensive player tonight was Freddy Adu ... yup ... we are counting on Freddy Adu right now to get us back in the game.

80th minute ... down 4-2. :mad::mad::mad:

:bricks::bricks::bricks::bricks::bricks:

Icy it is all very simple America sux @ soccer b/c all the TALENTED top tier Athletes are off dedicating their lives to more ACTION packed real sports.

eg. Real Football, Lacrosse, Hockey, Basketball ... the ATHLETICALLY gifted athlete does not wan't to play Soccer especially when there are far superior options to keep busy with. Baseball might not be action packed but your Pitchers SS's are your dominant athletes early on before proball and D1 college.

There is no GLORY in Soccer like in the sports I mentioned. The only slam dunk,hat-trick, TD pass thrown or caught and finally a HR, etc... occur in soccer when the player sells a call to the ref:eek:

(yawn)

not true at all

there's just no glory in the US when it comes to soccer

futbol is worldwide and tops american football in glory, severely lol

oh and players on every team in every sport often act for the refs

that's a f'n fact

Only in America! U.S. soccer team booed as they take on Mexico...in California | Mail Online

One of the worst games I have ever attended was Ireland v Mexico in the '94 World Cup in Orlando. Not just because the Irish lost but the Mexican fans behaviour was way over the top. They were really obnoxious. Outside after the game was interesting as well! Lots of punches thrown from both sets of fans. Anytime I watch them play now, I hope they get gubbed! (Except when they play the English of course ).

Some funny comments at the foot of the article if you have the time to look at them.

It's the same in any country when a sport is 5th on the list! (well I can't think of any other sports that might be ahead of it) :D

it is the POOREST sport in the World. It is popular b/c every country and its people can bring their feet. In glory soccer trumps NFL?:rofl::rofl:

you are just making my point.:)

POOR means it is most easily integrated into sports culture b/c all you need are FEET and BALL; it is VERY accessible World Wide thus increasing its popularity.

open your eyes and realize economically soccer is the sport of choice World Wide b/c it is easy to get a hold of something when all you need are feet and the ball:bricks:

POOR Sports are popular because the demand for equipment and such is NIL b/c you can just play anywhere and mess around. The World's Sport's Culture has no bias, but financially speaking and easy accessibility make Soccer the sport of the world

compared to ice hockey, nfl is as poor as soccer in terms of what the player needs to play the sport

You are kidding me right?

Just because it doesn't have expensive equipment it is poor?

That is the point of jumpers for goalposts! Football is a language anyone can speak! If you are in the middle of a country, and can't speak a word, get out a football and everyone will know what to do with it!

Get out an eggball, and it will be passed around for a bit!

you guys never learn... Every country POOR, Wealthy and etc can play this sport. Since all of the POOR countries can afford this game it is popular. The RICH can afford to play this sport b/c it is popular WORLD-WIDE. Why is it so popular on the world spectrum? It is b/c Soccer is POOR and easily accessible by the poor and wealthy alike. Once you get the POOR ppl of the world involved it only increases the popularity of the sport.

American Football somebody said is Poor... relative to soccer ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE  LMAO

not when I refer to POOR counties I also mean the individuals within it :)

Why does it care if the people who play it are poor? Why does their financial status matter? Are you that worried about other people's money???

the unnecessary high expense required to play the game is NILL and that is why it is popular.:)

I don't care about other ppls $$$ it is commonsense and gets overlooked.

so insecure

Yeah, the British and Germans all got into a huddle and started playing!

I know, but when only one country is good at it, it will never be the world's number one sport! But I suppose all that proves is we are poor!

the funny thing is, that's the only reason only one country is good at it

cause the US is the one country who even cares about the nfl (playing it at least)

Professionally definitely! We have a league and a university league, and I know europe have them!

But a professional league would not happen!

and don't even get me started on how rugby is also more popular worldwide than nfl football

Because of countries that are poor...
