Don Trull
Harvey White
He was a very high draft pick in 1960 did nothing
Joe Kapp
Tom Hodson
Tom Shermen

i have always been pro Eason too and in 1985 we arrived to the FIRST SUPER BOWL thks to him too

and the 3 straight play-off W were...on the road...

easy ?

those 3 seasons were better than anything Steve Grogan ever did. Hey, i know guys like Grogan and O'Reilly become these big overated stars in Boston because of their personalities, toughness, and Irish names, but Steve Grogan had some nice games, some nice 6 game stretches. Tony Eason came on in 1984 and QB'd better than Grogan could ever dream of. He did everything he was asked to do in those playoff games and showed the discipline Grogan never could have, and again in 1986 Eason was terrific.
Eventually, injuries, the fact that he wasnt Doug Flutie, and the slandering from John Hannah turned everyone against the first QB to take the Patriots to a Super Bowl. Grogan never won a playoff game.
I liked the guy, but it doesnt mean to like Grogan you have to make up stuff to down Eason.

very well said

1985 was one of the first years i was able to follows the Patriots
in that period the only way, for me, was buying some newspapers and read: i loved the way the Patriots reached the Super Bowl and if i have to be honest i considered Eason really a lot and he gave me the emotion to see the Pats play the FIRST SUPER BOWL of their history

i will never put down Tony Eason...never...

my personal opinion of course

We are forgetting Two I believe,Major Applewhite and Michael Bishop? Arent I right?

The tread should focus on starters otherwise there are a dozen obscure QBs who never started a Pats game

Tom Brady. Quite the most useless person ever to put on a Pats shirt.

I was wondering when someone would list him. I mean he really disappointed me in that Denver playoff game last year. I really thought that was the last straw and cassel would be our starter this year.

Major Applewhite never played for the Pats.

And he definitely should never be on a worst of anything list.

Marc Wilson
Marc Wilson

Marc Wilson

Honorable mention: Hugh Millen (for screwing up that Denver game by trying to run the ball and letting the clock run out)

Marc makes all the other QB's mentioned look like Joe Montanna.

And please take Tony Eason off the list. He did pretty well and actually won a few PLAYOFF games. Nobody was going to beat the Bears that day. Had his receivers not been high on blow they would have caught a TD pass in the first drive and who knows the Pats may have covered.

In cases like Marc Wilson, I'd rather blame the management that brought him in. He was a known quantity (not that good with Oakland). Why bring him in and hand him the starting job?

It wasn't just because of the '85 Bears. He was over-rated from the beginning, and never panned out. There is a reason he only played four years for us, with ony spot appearances after that.

There were a lot of good QBs in that draft. We got the runt of the litter.

No that would be Todd Blackledge.

My top 5

Joe Kapp
Tom Ramsey
Tom Owen
Don Trull
Tommy Hodson

damn--no recollection of this dude:

Jeff Carlson

1992

18-49 for 232yds 1td 3int in 3 games for the NEP

that's sucktastic

thats because it was during the **** McPherson era. those 2 years are just a fog, I dont remeber anything from 90-92 except 1-15 and 2-14

Hugh Millen doesn't belong on a list of top 5 worst QBs. He was nothing great, don't get me wrong, but he brought more excitement and hope to the position than the players we had under center preceding him.

Tommy Hodson would be my vote for worst. Even the scrub QB we had during the strike season was better.

Has to be Cliff Kingsbury. I am still pissed that he threw (literally) that pre season game away a couple of years ago.
