this is one of the worst moments in canada's history

so disgraceful

apparently 9 stabbings, a fatality, a bruins fan got stabbed in the neck...not sure how that fan's doing , the fatality was from a fall, apparently

Can you imagine what it would have been like had they won??????

What an embarrassment for them........

What a bunch of Canuckleheads.

As much as we all love sport, at the end of the day its not a matter of life and death.

Yet these idiots are making it this.

I have read some of the accounts and what gets me is the rioters are being protrayed as a small group of "anarchists" was one term I saw used, and not hockey fans...meanwhile, you look at thte pictures and they all have Canuck jerseys on. There was one picture of a Canuck fan, er, sorry, I mean, an isolated anarchist, and he was jumping up and down on an overturned police car and there were about 10 guys all around, obvioulsy cheering him on, and every single one of them had the VC jersey on.

I have never understood how a sports team win or loss turns into an excuse to flip cars, burn buildings and loot stores.

There's plenty of countries around the world that celebrate sport as life and death. South Americans and their soccer rivalries are some of the more amazing illustrations of humanity if you get the chance to investigate.

Start with Argentina's Boca Juniors and River Plate. One of the documentaries I've watched on this rivalry was eye opening to say the least.

Mods, don't know if this is allowed so please remove if it's not...

....and people talk about Boston? I people in Boston/NE/US realize that this is not representative of Canada. We are are not like the 20-something, out of control, sense of entitlement, spoiled and immature, pathetic excuse for human beings these people are, who to be honest I feel bad for.

If this is an example of the youth in our country, then we are in for real trouble down the road. Probably sounds like an old-timer but it really boils down to respect.

they did the same exact thing when the nucks lost to the rangers in 94.

yeah and don't forget the colombians killing their soccer player when they lost to the US in the world cup

some fans are just crazy

and i wouldn't classify the rioters as true fans

because a true fan would have respected what the bruins did that series, and not taken out their anger on their own city, or rival fans, or just looked for a reason to loot/cause chaos

Glad to be a cause of their misery. Makes you wonder what's wrong with people? I can't recall burning down our city when we lost any Super Bowl, World Series, 88 and 90 Cups or recently the 2010 NBA championship. Not we won either. And there has been 7 Championships in the last 10 years.
