WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! BRUINZ!!! :rocker:

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! CELTS!!! :rocker:

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! RED SOX!!! :rocker:

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! PATRIOTS!!! :rocker:

When are the Revolution going to be on that list?

When their attendence isn't equivalent to a college cricket match.

Lol....yeah I think they have about 200 fans worldwide but we need them to add a trophy .......someday

There were rumours that Robbie Fowler was going to join them, and I became interested in them, but he went to Australia instead! So lost all interest!

Doesn't help that MLS is awful quality! It's like watching League One!

Are the Boston Lobsters still a franchise???????????

Boston Women's Football won the IWFL championship in 2008 so they are spared from the hall of shame.

How good we have it

I'm certainly not the oldest on the forum but at 43 having lived my entire life here I remember the lean years. The run since 2001 has been insane getting 7 titles and being within a play or two of the Patriots having two more, the Celtics another one and the Red Soxs another one. It won't always be like this for some of the younger fans who probably have become used to it. Soak it in.

This is a list of Cities with all four major sports teams and the distance between all 4 teams winning and how far they are out from their last title. Some of these cities are using multiple teams just to get on the board. Even if you discount somebody like Miami since the Panthers are a fairly new franchise it's still a 33 year span for the other three teams.

Hopefully the Pats can help break the current record or all 4 teams in 7 years and make it 3 years.

Boston: 7 years span, 12 hours from last title.

Bruins 2011
Celtics 2008
Red Soxs 2007
Patriots 2004

Chicago: 25 year span for WS fans, 103 for Cubs fans. 1 year from last title.

Re: How good we have it

Cool thread! We certainly are fortunate these days.

Even the New Kids on the Block (Boston's own) scored a reunion tour with the famous Backstreet Boys this year!!

CMON PATRIOTS!:mad::mad:

Re: How good we have it

Fans and mediots - particularly in Boston - too often live in the moment and lose all perspective. It doesn't get any better than this. Quit your entitlement driven incessant whining and kneejerk criticism and freakin' treasure good fortune. And don't be so focused on lamenting the simple fact that it might not always be this good that you fail miserably to enjoy the journey while it is.

Re: How good we have it

Being in my late 60's, I'm enjoying every season.....Having witnessed the B's Stanley Cup win with ORR & Co was a great moment....then seeing the Patriots take the Lombardi not once, but 3 times was unbelievable.....The Sox finally lifting the curse and winning the WS was IMMENSE !!

Seeing the B's win it again, and within just a few years of all the other major Boston sports franchises is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience...

Thank you Lord :singing:

Re: How good we have it

I made a post before about how lucky I am to be born a Boston sports fan in this era......I have only seen very few bad seasons, although there has been a lot of heartbreak moments like these are worth it. I could care less about blowing the 3-0 lead last season :D

Re: How good we have it

I was 18 when the Pats won it in Feb 02.

and now 10 years later All major sports teams in this town have given us the glory. with some pitching in multiple times.

We have been to 9 championships and won 7 of them. Also throw in some conference finals appearances and we really are in the middle of something absolutely special.

Think about the fact that the Bruins Thomas aside are very young and they have Rask in the wings. They also have cap space to augment this team in the offseason or just to lock up some of the young talent.

Think about how the Sox are playing right now and the talent they have.

Think about the youth added to the Pats in the last few years and the fact BB and Brady are still going strong.

Sure the Celts might look like their window is closing but find them a big man and they might be able to squeez one more out of the Big Three and then they have Rondo to rebuild around.

Livin it Loven it.
