His background, his demeanor, his immense knowledge of the game sounds a LOT like a young Bill Belichick.

I guess we can drop the Belichick comparisons. James is an idiot, but he's very good. When he is having trouble on the floor the coach has got to take some of the responsibility. The coach could not devise any set plays which would use James too some advantage in the fourth quarter of the last couple of games?

There's not much you can do as a coach when one of your 100 million dollar men can't hit the side of a barnyard with a basketball in clutch situations.

The most over used phrase this Finals series was "still trying to figure it out". Correct me if I am wrong but these guys are almost 10 year veterans. They know how to figure things out.

The reality is LeBron simply isn't as good as he wants people to think he is. He's a great talent but that only gets you so far.

You really can't pin any of last nite's loss on Spoelstra. Or any of the losses. Lebron played completely scared and timid in the Finals, and there's no question about it. He passed up wide open shots to give the ball to guys like Juwan Howard or Haslem to shoot instead. It was pathetic, and his legacy will be crushed this summer, until he next has a chance to rebuild it.

Doc Rivers would have had Miami winning ... you should not lose when you have the 2 best players on the court. A good NBA coach as we all know gets his players to work together. The Mavericks did and the heat did not ... that simple.

But as far as helping a new team of big egos come together to play better as a team, Spolestra did a good job - especially when you look back to the beginning of the season. Overall it wasn't good enough to win (i.e. overcome LeBron's deficiencies in the 4th Q.)

Spolestra impressed me overall though - but if I'm the Heat and I can improve at Head Coach, and bring in someone who will coax more out of LeBron and the team, you have to do it... with truly no offense meant to Spolestra.

Lebron James has yet to establish he is a player that can perform well in crunch time consistently - at any point in his career, and so it's very difficult for me to pin his failure on the coach.

If anything, James has shown quite the opposite - that he caves under pressure and lacks the reliable offensive tools to be a consistent performer in the clutch. He has no post-up game, he has questionable ball-handling, and his penetration relies on abusing the traveling and offensive-fouling rules, so his drives are at the mercy of the refs.

When his shot was hot against Boston and Chicago, it completely changed his game, and he was an unstoppable force. But if he's not hitting his outside shot, he does not have the same tools in his arsenal that guys like MJ, Kobe, Wade do to put points on the board when their team needs it most.

It wouldn't be the first time a ton of money lured someone to take their talents to South Beach.

Assuming Riley thinks Jackson is a better coach, then I expect some feelers were probably sent out within hours of the loss - which probably confirmed that Jackson is not interested.

I would expect Jackson doesn't want to deal with the stress at this point - it's a no upside opportunity, even for him, who latches onto star after star and rides their coat-tails to championships. In this case, it would mean nothing if Jackson got Lebron a ring - and as some of the Cleveland beat writers started to leak out once the King left town, Lebron is not an easy guy to coach and is not liked by coaching staffs.

If Jackson had issues with Kobe, he'd have far greater issues with the Crownless King.

What's the coach supposed to do when the $100M man is standing still at the top of the key watching the offense unfold around him? Are the guys supposed to give LeBron the ball when he clearly looks intimidated?

You must have forgotten about how much Phil Jackson badmouthed the Heat last offseason. There's no way that piece of sh!t is getting hired as our head coach. Spoelstra will stay and Jackson will look for the next superstar to join together with a super team that he can coach. This guy has easily had the best job in the NBA. Give me those Bulls and Lakers teams and I could win a championship.
