Can't stand Rex Ryan and his foot fetish as much as the next guy, but lets face facts - the tub of goo has gotten his team farther than Belichick has gotten his team each of the last two seasons. Mark Sanchez has played deeper into the playoffs than Tom Brady each of the last two seasons. Mark Sanchez has more touchdowns, fewer interceptions, and a higher quarterback rating than Tom Brady the last two seasons in the playoffs.
Braylon Edwards has made more big plays than any receiver on the Patriots the last two seasons. Same for Cotchery, Holmes, etc.
We need to face it, the Patriots have folded like a tent come playoff time the last two seasons. If ever a team wasn't going to blow it and, dare I say, choke in the playoffs, it was going to be last year's 14-2 team. There's no way that team should have lost to the NYJ at home in the playoffs. That's what I and 99.99999% of everyone on this board thought. I'm left thinking if a 14-2, pretty dominant team quarterbacked by a league MVP can't win a home playoff game against the #6 seeded team, than what Patriots team can win in the playoffs?

Really, you you constant instant gratification driven what have you done for me lately pseudo fans need to face is how pathetic you sound. At least this organization and this HC and QB combo have done IT three times in a decade during which they've never fallen out of contention - which is more than any of their highly touted and seemingly envied peers can come close to claiming. But somehow it's never good enough or recent enough in whatever twisted comparisons their frustrated resident critics choose to engage.

You should all abandon the closet you uncomfortably occupy in the far reaches of patsfandom and just come out as JETS fans (or better yet post seasonal front running bandwagon fans of whomever wins it all every given year).

Easier schedule this year with last years rookies having a year's worth of experience and with Warren, Wright and Bodden back healthy (hopefully) should mean another run for the AFCE and a shopt at another SB....

Yes, BS calls or lack thereof have hurt the Pats in the Pats. As for injuries last year, I seem to recall the Pats winning a super bowl and or making very deep playoff runs with street free agents and guys like Hank Poteat who weren't even playing football when the Pats signed them.
The saying goes, "You only have so many bites at the apple," and last year this team had a huge f#cking chomp at it. The patriots have been around since 1960 - coming in on 51 seasons. They've had a bye week/and or home field in the playoffs for at least two rounds how many times? You've got to make the MOST of those opportunities. The team worked so f#ckign hard last year, came together before our eyes, and REALLY looked like a team that was going deep in the playoffs. And then they laid a monumental egg at home.
People that say that's a "bangwagon attitude" are idiots or haven't been fans of this team very long. They probably don't remember what it's like to be 2-14, 1-15, or to watch Steve Grogan, Eason, Millen, etc., get sacked every third time he drops back.
As a fan, I/we see Brady getting older, I/we see Belichick with another year under his belt (the guy can't/won't coach forever), and I/we see this team getting further and further away from their last championship. Fans that have been around through those TERRIBLE seasons, those of us who BOUGHT tickets and watched Leonard Russell rush 37 times for 80 yards DO NOT want to go back to those times. We saw Hugh Millen, Matt Cavanaugh, Marc Wilson, and a host scrubs quarterbacking this team to a bunch of crap seasons.

Apparently you think that choosing to follow a team through bad times eventually entitles you to expect if not demand annual championships in good times. That's not how it works. I said after 2001 that they didn't owe me another damn thing, and I meant it. Seems like some of didn't or decided if you could win one you should win 'em all... Doesn't mean I don't want to see them win it all every season. Just means I appreciate the fact that having now won more championships in my lifetime as a fan than I ever dared hope for based on becoming a fan in the Fenway days I realize that nothing is ever a given least of all in this one and done any given Sunday teamwork and coaching as opposed to star driven salary capped league.

That they have been the most consistently competitive team in the league for a decade in a league where the average players career is 3.5 years and coaches don't fair much better and true franchise QB's are a rarity is OK by me, in fact it is way beyond my wildest dreams. And I'm not remotely ready to move on to what better come next because I grasp that these days may never come again in my lifetime. And rather than piss and moan my way through whatever is left of them I have chosen to embrace them and enjoy the the journey as do those who are most heavily and genuinely invested in it.

And that's not whining, perpetually dissatisfied fairweather fans...who apparently live to complain about activities they choose to partake in that apparently no longer are resulting in the level of enjoyment they've recently come to expect. I didn't "choose" to be Pats fan - I was born into it, and yeah, fans have a right to be really pissed off, as I am/was, when my team comes out and allows itself to be walked all over by Baltimore and the f#cking NYJ and their loudmouth coach in the playoffs....

I do recall a 2007 season that the Patriots made it to the SB. And the season before made to the AFCCG. By Jets standards, that should have them enshrined in the HOF just by achieving those milestones.

We Patriots fans should want them to win the SB every year.But we can't expect it unless we want to be unrealistic.

Yes, the Jets did win a playoff game againts the Patriots and I didn't like it and still don't. What did the Jets get for it? A Super Bowl Championship? An AFC Championship? An AFC East Championship? The answer is NOTHING. The same thing that they won the year before. 42 years since thier last Super Bowl appearance.

But I guess in some Patriots fans eyes the Jets are now superior to the Patriots. Not in my eyes, because they are not.
