BJGE better than we thought:

Glad we've got one decent player on offense, because that Brady guy sucks.

BJGE was sure handed and a N/S runner....not very often he got stuffed or lost yardage....

Very under rated....

He should be even better with Vereen and Ridley pushing him for touches....

I have a feeling the Pats won't have one 1000 yd rusher next season....but they'll have a few RB's with very good YPC averages....

When they stick to stats rather than their grading garbage, it's not a bad site at all.

we're talking about a difference of 58 yards here.

What I find most valuable about him: He doesn't drop the football.

I hope to see that trend continue.

Benny is a whole lot better than most fans thought he was in August of 2010. I fear that he isn't nearly as good as people seem to think of him now. Teams dont spend 2 of their first four picks (and 2 of the top 72 overall) on the RB position when they think it is all sewn up.

My money says Vereen is the starter by the end of the year.

Definately a very underrated ability...fumbles can lose a game. The fact that he has reportedly never fumbled is mind-blowing.

Having a no BS runner like him in our lineup is very valuable.

 We haven't been the same since we got rid of that Matt guy at quarterback!

Have always contended this.. very few negative yards and no fumbles are significant.. he will never be flashy, but his blue collar work ethic fits in well here.

He is also low maintainence away from the game..

Always find it amazing that he never fumbled in the NFL, College and High School(not verified).. that alone is incredible.

Although I agree with most of what you are saying, there are other major factors that contributed to using their 3rd and 4th picks on the RB position. The Pats only have two RBs signed through next year, and also use a RB by committee approach. This was also a very weak draft class, and I believe the Pats had high grades for both Vereen and Ridley. I also believe that after a year or two, most will refer to those picks as steals rather than reaches.

I agree...nothing wrong with adding some solid depth considering how much of a beating the RB's take throughout the season.

Had BJGE or even Danny gone down at some point during the season we would've been in a world of trouble. All in all they did a good job and provided some consistency in the running game for us.

Don't like the premise of the rankings in these tables. BJGE is #1 in YPC not because of his YPC but rather the DELTA (change) in his YPC.

If 10 other guys had a 5 YPC and played against league avg competition (0.0% Delta) then they wouldn't even be in his top 10 list; while they would be blowing BJGE away in reality.

Nice to know he is underappreciated and thanks to the website for the breaking news that Patriots played a tougher than avg schedule last year.

I fully understand the gaping hole that existed at the RB position going into the draft, which is why I aid before the draft that NE would take someone in the first 2 or 3 rounds.

But I stand by my statement that targetting 2 that high demonstrates that NE felt the RB spot needed an upgrade on the top as well as in the backups.

I still think they were a value/need pick as BB had to upgrade the Taylor/Morris/Faulk trio at some point....grabbing the 2 young RB's that BB liked and then sitting back for a while in the draft speaks volumes about what he thought about the value players left at that point of the draft....
I would love to see how he had his board stacked.

I feel oddly proud of BJGE. A testament that hard work can overcome a certain lack of natural talent. He's someone to look up to.

BJGE was a decent back for Ole Miss averaging 4.6 ypc as a JR and SR to go along with 13 TD's....over 1000yds both years.....Nothing flashy...just a worker bee...:)
