As long as he plays at a high level, yes, if he starts playing like crap, no. Ultimately fans want to win but they also want to root for someone they identify with, someone who inspires you to be better than you are, a man’s man. If the fans truly identify with a player/team they’ll stick with them through thick and thin, just look at the Red Sox over the decades.

As for the testosterone, I have no idea how much Brady produces but I don’t see what that has to do with his QB abilities. I think he’d be a more effective leader if he didn’t blow his top, whining and complaining on the field, and maintained control of himself. How can one expect to control your opposition if one cannot maintain control of oneself?

I'm not sleeping with the guy, and I'm not his friend, so his manliness (or lack thereof) is only important to me as far as it impacts his play as QB for the New England Patriots. He may be metro enough to bring on some teasing, but he's man enough to be the best QB in the NFL, and to have won 3 Super Bowl titles for my favorite team.

The rest is just fodder for jokes.

To be fair, a majority of football fans prefer to scrambler over a pure pocket passer (Elway v Marino, Favre v. late Marino/Manning/Brady, Grogan v. anybody else from 1977-1987, Flute, Michael Bishop). It's more exciting to watch Big Ben rambling around and hucking it downfield than it is to watch Brady throw it a 3 yard completion to a hot route, even if the later is a smarter, better play.
