oh man, those Jesters think of it all!

I was hoping we'll sweep this season and the playoffs if they make it but now, this groundbreaking news makes me abandon all my hopes! :bricks:

As another NYC based Pats fans the fun thing about the Jets telling these tales is that they do it every year, every year they convince the fans that the Jets are really going to be great this year, every year the Jets fans believe for about six weeks, and in every year but the last two the Jets fans have a soul crushing revelation around week 9 that they're not actually a good team.

It's like Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown.

"We had a really good meeting the other day, Rex and I, with our staff and two things we're working on is improvement and trying to take a little time when we can but really focused on improving," Tannenbaum said.

How are we going to keep up with these guys? Why don't we hear about our coaching staff having a good meeting? Why aren't we hearing about the Pats trying to improve, and taking time to focus on improving? It's the old 'double-whammy'. We are DOA this year.

And here I was, stupidly thinking this thread was going to be about Rex & Tannenbaum on CSI NY. :)

Thanks for the chuckle!

Looks like half the board doesn't have their sarcasm detector working yet ...

I hear you and must admit that I experience immense glee when they fall apart. :D

That said, I have a grudging respect for them now considering how they stopped us cold and pulled the plug on our team that looked poised to have a great playoffs last season. With Ryan's unusual personal tirade against Brady and the insults that Brady took from imbeciles in that team, I thought we will whip them @ home especially with a one week break.

Whew... it still hurts and I am surprised that I am unable to let go of the last loss.

Wish the season starts!

What can you say--Rex is an awesome defensive coach and motivator.

I think Tanny's strategy [(1) paying in draft picks or cash to get a few very talented players, (2) taking a bunch of chances on big name talented guys with histories of attitude problems and shot contracts (Holmes, Cromartie, Edwards) and (3) fill out half the roster with waiver wire guys, super cheap free agents, and UDFAs] is incredibly risky and is going to hurt him when there's either a bunch of injuries, a lot of malcontent players during a losing streak, or both, but he's done pretty well using it three years in a row.

Couldn't agree more. Belichik and his staff are notoriously lazy and always have been and it shows in the piss poor results they have had under his tenure. The Kraft's really need to put time clocks in to make sure these guys are working their 10 hours a week because otherwise the workaholic Jets are going to dominate once again. I'm sick of Belichik screwing off and it's clear from the sucky draft they had that he didn't even take the time to scour Draft Countdowns first round mock, otherwise we would have a dominant pass rusher.

Did they bring in Tom Moore to simplify the offense?

I pretty much assume a post like this is sarcasm. I may not always be right but I dont blow up on people who are being sarcastic often and if someone was being serious and I take it as sarcasm than I am probably better off getting a laugh out of it then actually reading their insanity thinking they really think that way. :D

Because unlike the fat mouth Jets we don't tell the media everything we do. We are humble and don't worry about what outsiders think. We are not falling behind the Jets "Again", or at all. The Jets have beat us one time that matters, big deal. Further, they have built their roster for the short term while our roster is built for the short and long term. Who won the division last year? We are going to win it agian and I only hope we see them in the playoffs this year. One big win in a decade doesn't count as the Jets doing everything right. It counts as the Patriots having a bad day.

I think he left out the

Well played! And extra kudos for not coming in to explain yourself but letting the humor-impaired take the bait.

I'm actually starting to feel a bit guilty about it.

The sarcasm smiley face ruins the humor in the sarcasm, IMHO. But golly gee, we are a sensitive group.

When I saw the quote from Tannenbaum I had to read it three times to make sure it wasn't some kind of deep Buddhist riddle.

We are falling behind tha jets whose last Super Bowl quarterback was Joe Namath?

Let's not get too nervous people. I think we are still OK here.

Now if they report they are designing an offense that will score more points or a defense that will stop other team's offenses....Then we should all be a little nervous

Bill is never going to tell the media anything and his players have taken after him. The other day Gronk said guys have been working out together but we did not hear it in the media.

Nonsense. The Jets have most likely crested, and don't have the way to replenish themselves. Their Defensive line is a disaster and desperate attempts to draft a jailbird bound cretin, won't change that one iota. Jason Taylor, Shaun Ellis and Kris Jenkins are g-o-n-e.

The linebacking is even older, and wasn't all that good on the outside last season. Inside Bart Scott is aging.

The Offense has zero depth, and not even enough starters on the offensive line, with Woody going over the hill. The RBs are nothing to write home about. Shone Greene can't do it all by himself. LdT is another year older. The WRs are all FAs. They have one good TE only. Overall there is absolutely no depth, as the crazy idea you can continue to restock a team by trading your draft for one or two players a year, is proving that it hollows out any roster, over time. And that Time has arrived.

The Belichick Front office has rebuilt a former Superbowl club from top to bottom, and has already passed by the Jets.

Have you forgotten that the W-L record in 2010 were 3 games apart? The Pats were 14-2 versus 11-5, while playing a tougher schedule, up from one game the year before. In 2011 the gap will be even wider. I could see the Jets falling to 9-7 or 8-8, while the Patriots get even stronger.:)
