Pats move

The Patriots placed defensive back Eugene Wilson on injured reserve today, and signed defensive back Ray Mickens.

Wilson played in four games this season, starting the first three contests of the season. He injured his hamstring in the third game, against the Broncos, and missed the next two contests. Wilson, now in his fourth season, suffered another injury in his first game back, Oct. 28 against the Bills.

Mickens at least has experience in our system. :(

Oh Well what can you do. Mickens I don't know much about. Does anybody know how good or bad he is?

You beat my thread by a minute. I checked right before I started it.

He used to be a solid safety and he played under BB in NY and under Romeo last year. He is familiar with our scheme, other than that its a mystery to me.

I remember Mickens with the Jets, I think he played under BB/Parcells. He's a really small nickel CB.

I remember him, he's a good fit. He's a tenacious small CB.

Maybe it is because he replaced Geno on the roster but I remembered him as a safety.

I guess this means Scott will be holding down the safety spot until Rodney comes back and Mickens would be the nickel with Troy being the dime back.

our yearly musical chairs with the secondary continues ....this secondary is snake bitten
on the +ve side ..it was wilson not rodney.

When you said he used to be a solid safety, at first I thought you were talking about Geno.

For a guy who started so well he's become a major disappointment.

Nope, I just had a brain fart. ;)

Does anyone know if he re-injured that hammy...or was it a new injury he suffered?

BTW, I like the Mickens signing. He's a pesky kind of DB.

Good pickup in an emergency.

Guess we're really going to have Sanders coming out party.

Obviously, we haven't had a healthy Eugene in a while so this should help us.

A career Jet brings some familiarity for the former HC of the NYJ.

man, this sucks. as much as some dont like geno and he has dissapointed to date, him being back for the playoff run would have been a help.
knowing that Mickens was out there I am somewhat surprised they didnt bring him in earlier especially with Troy playing DB again
