Learning more about ... Shane Vereen - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

"When you talk about Shane's character, he's the type of guy that if you had a daughter, you'd want him to marry her. That's the highest compliment.

Learning more about ... Nate Solder - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

"He's the kind of guy you hope your daughter brings home to meet you one day. He's as good as gold and a tremendously blessed athlete on top of it."

Ras-I Dowling | Football 2010 | Lowe's Senior CLASS Award

“This is exactly what I know about him: That as a father, this is who you get down on your knees and pray that your daughter brings home someday. That is the type of character that he is. You would be so proud to call Ras-I Dowling your son, and I’ve told his family that.”

Does Belichick have a daughter we dont know about?

LOL!

Actually he has a daughter we do know about. I think he has three kids - two sons and a daughter. I think she is in her early to mid 20s so maybe he is looking for prospective son-in-laws. It has worked out well with Chris Snee and Tom Coughlin.

Let's see- draft a player- do I want him to:
a. kick ass on the football field and be a good citizen
or,
b. marry my daughter

I think I'll go with (a) kick ass and be a good citizen. My daughter is already engage to a really nice guy who can't rush the passer.

Has Reiss become obsessed with having a player who is good enough for 'his daughter'?

No, those are quotes from the players' coaches.

My take is that it's time for a new football cliche.

From Nate Solder:

Y'know, I'm just such a competitive guy in every thing I do, and when I go out there, there's not one guy that I don't just want to do everything better than him, at every single level. And that plays out in a lot of ways. If I gotta smash him into the ground to shut up his mouth, or whatever, that's the way I do it," said Solder.

Left tackle worthy. :rocker:

Yes, looking at him with an unprofessional eye, this young man seems to be more the irresistible force type of lineman than the immovable object.

Amanda, I believe, and think she is a lacrosse coach at UMASS...

The term is 'unstoppable force'. I think you made a Freudian slip.

Not where I grew up. Still, I'm living in Cambridge, Massachusetts, so feel free to make any jokes you like in that direction. ;)
