This isn't a criticism of anything negatively said about the Patriots draft. This is for a lot of the things I've read on the net about the draft as a whole, which includes every team.

1. Am I the only one that remembers that free agency and the power to trade hasn't started yet? In years past, it's understandable to feel like the team you have after the draft is pretty much the team you'll have to start training camp. It's amazing to read so much endless criticism of so many of the teams' drafts because "they didn't address (insert position here) when it was clearly a need."

When did the NFL decide that all un-signed players have to retire? It feels like everyone's looking at each teams' roster right now and assuming that it's not getting any better. I just don't get it.

2. I'm getting so tired of reading about how a player was a "reach." Yeah, I would understand that feeling if the Carolina Panthers took Brandon Harris with the #1 overall pick. But really, if you stop and think about it, by the end of each draft, how many picks would be considered "reaches?" I say the number would easily go above 50, maybe even much higher. With that number being so high, why is it that so many analysts and fans always assume that a player would have certainly been there later, as if it's impossible for any other team to think that highly of him?

Does anyone give a crap right now that Vollmer wasn't rated as a 2nd round pick? How many Titans fans still lose sleep at night knowing that the Chris Johnson pick wasn't thought very highly of at the time?

I still love the draft and always will. However, the instant criticism is becoming absurd.

This post sucks.

You did in 6 paragraphs what most posters can do in 4.

I thought you really could have traded in a few of those words and made your point more succinctly.

Your post is overvalued because it is #1 overall.

I have financial advice rated higher than your post. You should have gone with financial advice because I rated it as a need. Mel Kiper thinks so, too.

What is with holding some posts back? POST ALL OF YOUR POSTS NOW!!

Nice :)

I know what you mean. I actually had financial advice rated very high as well but I just felt at the time of the post that draft talk was a better fit on this messageboard.

Most will argue that I could have waited until Tuesday night to write it but I was afraid of someone posting the same thing so I went ahead and got it done.

mike mayock has this thread way lower on his messageboard.

I'm tired of you always saving letters for future posts. When are you going to cash in and package some of those letters for a really big word?

But big words are exactly the problem. Look at how Ryan condenses value into 4 genuine impact letters, while Belichick has to get cute with 9 letters of questionable quality. (Does anybody trust those i's to hold onto their dots long-term?)

OK, I only thought there were a couple of OLB choices. But we both thought that there were lots of DE choices in the first couple of rounds who would be upgrades to our team.

Guys!... come on, all these posts won't have any meaning for at least two to three years.

You cannot judge this book, until it reaches paperback(mass market) ... then the question becomes will it become a really great movie, some grade b dud, a good book or something that is found in the dollar store.

This thread is a reach.

F Grade.

I was going to post in this thread but I feel the quality isn't here so I have traded back into tomorrows thread for a high post and one on page 3

If you look at the Jets message boards, you'll see why this post will do NOTHING to address the root problems from the playoff game. Sure, we'll generate a lot of responses during the regular season, but then come playoffs we'll fold like pulp fiction.

This thread is a good value post, but the big question is CAN IT RUSH THE PASSER!!!

Notice from League Office

This entire thread is a violation of the court order.

Commissar Goodell will be calling Foxboro to inform Patsfans.com that you have been fined $5, and will lose the right to comment on a #1, #2, and #7 round pick in the 2012 draft. This is being done to ensure that no creativity, joviality or "just plain fun" is allowed on these out of control team message boards.

The Commissar is committed to leveling the playing field between competing fan websites, and has been dismayed by the undertone of intelligent discussion that occasionally appears on Patsfans.com.

"Lawyers for Patsfans.com have applied to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, asking for an Administrative Stay of the Commissioner's punishment while they appeal the decision."

The next step is we need to vote on the decirtification of the Patsfans.com forums. If we chose to, we will still be able to post, but it will technically be as a Fan "Association", allowing individuals to pursue their own "Anti-Fun" Lawsuits.

I think this is a very good mock thread.

I'm not mocking the thread, it's just that I would have gone in a different direction had I done a mock thread.

Nice thread, but it has very little upside, and I doubt it'll ever blossom into a starting thread.

And frankly, a mock thread that doesn't project trades out into the pub or political forum is pretty unrealistic.

Another reason to hate this time of year.....:bricks:

OMG, damn hate these trade backs. Hope you post a I can haz cheeseburger kitty with your 3rd page post.
