WOW, I'll never complain about an announcing crew again. I'll gladly listen to those ESPN ******s or even NFL network. Whoever those tools were that did the game yesterday were.... I don't know how to describe it. For a while the whole game, announcers, camera angles, production.. all had the feel of a freakin high school game. How many times did flags get thrown without a word mentioned? Nobody even hinted at the fact that Hobbs may have been going for the ball on the INT. Maroney was out of the game for 2 1/2 quarters before they mentioned it. You'd think the first clue would have been when Pass fumbled...... why the hell is Pass carrying the ball should have come to mind. I'm sure that's the exact thought most fans had! Anywho, they suck and now I feel better.

OH, I AGREE.

JC Pearson was horrible, just loved to hear himself talk. I can't say how many times he started talking (providing color commentary), and continued through the entire play, only to have Matt interject at the last second, before the next play, "Brady to Caldwell for 7". It was as though the color was more important than the play by play. Several times, Pearson talked through penalties, and we never found out what the penalty was, they never showed the replay of the penalty, nor even showed the referee announcing the penalty. Absolutely horrible. I guess this was Fox's "F" team.

I can see how it might be hard to find quality annoucers but there is no excuse for the poor production of yesterday's game by Fox. It was as if the poeple in the "truck" had no idea of what is important to fans watching a football game. Significant plays without a replay, the aforementioned ignoring of penalties (let alone showing the replay of them), rare mentioned of down and distance, low quailty camera angles, the list goes on...

The league keeps boasting of its present success but continues to allow the employment of part-time refs (see other thread, they were awful) and the networks to broadcast sub-par productions of all but the 'national' games, even some of those are disappointing. All this while charging very high prices for tickets and expecting fans to sit through one inane TV commercial after another while squeezing in a few seconds of play.

The bottom line? The league is happy with its money, the players are happy with their money and the networks are happy with their money. The fans are left to like it or lump it.

(1) I had the fun of watching the picture c*** out and nearly die twice (although it was on Lions drives, so it wasn't quite so bad). And the coup de suck: right near the end they gave the Pats' remaining schedule--except it was the Lions'. Matt V. got as far as Minnesota, then stopped, and never mentioned it again. . . .

(2) Worse still, Mr. Pearson was pointing out that it was MORE IMPORTANT that Vrabel made the interception then that he might have injured himself on the play. :enranged:

If they want to send Matt back to cover another game, I could probably live, but, for the love of <insert entity here>, no more Pearson. Ever.

I couldn't believe that Maroney was out and they didn't even mention it. They also repeatedly said that Light was getting beat, when it was Kazur. Absolutely terrible play-by-play they had no idea what was happening on the field.

What play by play, Pearson would never shut up long enough to let Matt do the play by play. Frickin' ridiculous. They had to be the worst announcing team I have ever seen.

You season-ticket holders don't know what you're missing. Yesterday was just another in a long line of crappy TV productions. I can't even mock the NFL network's game last week anymore because of this:mad:

That had to be the worse crew ever. I think that you could of taken two drunks off the streets and they would of done a better job than that.

I ahree..iy was BAD..even vad annoumcers I can handle..I expect it and it is usually that poor...and that happens..it's sad that annoumcers get paid a lot and jave no idea what the heck they are talking about...nut NO reason at all for poor production..Fox is paying money and giving a half as product..really poor...kust a few steps above college...

I thought it was funny on one run that Kevin Jones got 7-8 yards and they said "Jones may have gotten just past the line" and then when they realized their mistake they said "that was a generous spot". The guys couldn't get the amount of yards rushed right all game.

What will focusing in on the QB right before the play and not showing the formation? I don't care about the view of the QB because you see nothing about the play from that angle.

Why did they seem to rush to another promo or a stupid bit like Atrell Hawkins doing a promo bump rather than allowing us to see what the penalty was? We got a holding call on a kick return that they barely acknowledged.

I hate the CBS broadcasts and Joe Buck from Fox, but I want all our games either on CBS or NBC for now on unless we draw Buck and Aikman on Fox. I thought Bryant Gumble was really bad and lost throughout the game. He would have added tons of value to the two bozos yesterday. That is sad.

They were agonizing, beside a bad game to have crappy announcers made it worse.. no notice of Maroney missing, no comments on the defensive calls against the Pats and they did not know this team or the subleties of it. I guess this is what you get when you play a poor team, Fox should be ashamed of themselves.

Here is some stuff on JC Pearson, never heard of him before yesterday..apparently a seldom used corner back from KC.

My favorite quote was the unintentional diss of Detroit. Something about the Patriots talking all week how they weren't going to overlook Detroit, "but when you're playing the Detroit Lions it's just human nature to overlook them".

Lol, and every time the camera would pan to the announcers' booth they would both freeze up.

To repeat what I said in this thread. Horrendous comes to mind. For all the points mentioned plus FOx's non-stop self promotion and that stupid meca-football player graphic with the absurdly large shoulder pads. Those idiots in the booth were beyond bad. You don't go for two points here. What? Extra point they trail by 1 and still have to score again. Conversion they tie late in the final quarter. Duh!

They were God-awful. I gave my tix to my parents for the game since it was likely the last of the nice, warm, sunny day games (translation-there has been waaaay too much stuff neglected around the house with the newborn and winter is coming) so I was home watching it on the tube. The Mrs. asked me who the two clowns were announcing the game, I had no idea. Now I know why I had no idea.

Please take a minute to send Fox Sports a feedback here. So we, hopefully don't have to go through that again.

Did anyone notice that after Pass fumbled, they kept showing Dillon on the sidelines.

I couldn't agree more. I was thinking the same things while watching the game. They even had a sideline reporter. Why didn't she get the scoop on Maroney?

I guess we are back to the bad announcing crew days of the 90's...

Fox was probably under contract to show the game. At this point in the season, they probably didn't want the expense. Looking at the stats, other than Pats fans, they figured who would be watching. Besides the announcers, we also got barely working technical equipment.

I wish we could go back to having local coverage like we get for the Sox, Bruins and Celtics.

Thanks for the link, I've sent Fox Sports my thoughts as well.

Yeah I did. Ya think they got confused as to who coughed it up?
