I think we are lucky to beat Chicago and Det. I think our preformance against both was embarassing and nothing close to the level we played at in our championship runs. Im sorry but any decent teams would have made us pay for all the errors we are making. Oh wait they did Indy and the Jets. I mean I just dont know who is going to show up each week the bumbling fumbling pats who cant cover or the pats that execute flawlessly and disect you (greenbay, minn).

When our level of play keeps dipping like this it just makes me nervous for the playoff run. While I think we can beat everyone, nothing is showing me that we will or we want to, this just isnt the same Pats effort week in and week out. That being said we did win both games but I think we are walking a very tight rope.

While I agree we were flat yesterday, calling the Chicago game a bad effort is downright wrong. We beat a 9 and 1 team by holding them to half of their average points per game and being the only team to get over 300 yds on them this season. They FORCED 5 turnovers because they're the best ballhawking defense in the league right now. Yesterday, everyone was flat and they played down to their competition. The Lions got a lift by a refurbished OL with something to prove and Kevin Jones returning. Get a grip. It's a long season.

Amen. I'm with the thread starter about yesterday, but the guy lost me regarding the Chicago game.

Yes we have, but look at the other "AFC playoff teams" and tell me which ones have played well. Of the 9 potential playoff teams, only 3 have won the last two weeks, Bengals, Chargers and Pats. And only the Bengals have put together two good games.

Colts - blew a 14 point lead to the Titans, the Titans
Ravens - totally flat against the Bengals
Chiefs - lose in OT to the Browns
Broncos - lost the last two
Chargers - Barely get by Raiders and Bills
Pats - Beat Bears and Lions
Jets - Beat Texans and Packers
Jags - Lost to Bills last week
Bengals - Shut out Browns and nearly shut out Ravens

To me, this playoff picture is wide open, with all kinds of possibilities. The Jets are the only team that does not face another potential playoff team. The Pats and the Ravens only face one, the Jags and Chiefs respectively. The Colts, Chargers, Bengals, and Broncos each face two potential playoff teams. The Jags and Chiefs have the hardest schedule, with each facing three potential playoff teams, including each other the last week of the season.

I can't wait for next week.

The Bears are the worst 9-2 team I have ever seen. They wont win a playof game. Other teams would be better suited to run 3 times and punt and wait for Rex to make mistakes than run an actual Offense and risk them picking you for 6.

I do agree that in general the AFC contenders are ALL fading recently only team I see worth its salt is SD and honeslty they have struggled vs Oakland and the Bills.

2 horrid weeks, 2 wins. Don't sweat it too much.

The Broncs have lost 3 in a row... So there are some silver linings, the chicago game was not flat, yesterday was... We cant play like this against Miami...
