There must be spittle dribbling down Felgie's chin right about now waiting to get on the air. He and Callahan and Borges and they rest of the local douches will be doing their best to drive Mallet out of town.

It will start Monday morning with Callahan dredging up everything he can find on Mallet no matter how minor. Then he will tag-team with Felger for the afternoon douchbaggery. Borges will get in on the act soon also.

If I was BB I would tell Mallet not to tell those jackals anything; no press conferences no interviews no question ... nothing... Whatever he says will be twisted by the local powers of darkness.

He's admitted past drug use which caused him to plummet in this draft. Not sure how people whose job is to talk about sports are supposed to get around that not so minor little detail.

I am willing to give the kid another chance and a fresh start; most of us did dumb things as teenagers; in fact doing dumb (and dangerous) things seems to be built into teenagers genes.

I am willing to give the kid a break and welcome him into the Patriots family but the jackals in the press will not. Callahan comb over every word Mallet has ever said looking for the smallest deviation from the normal. They got rid of Manny and Moss and they are looking for someone new and here comes this naive kid who is not very good at press conferences....

A few years ago, Felger said that if he was starting a NFL team he would
pick Carson Palmer as his QB over any player in the NFL.

Carson Palmer over, Brady & Manning ?

Enough said on Felgers knowledge of football !

That just looks like spittle...

So the obsession with complaining about local sports talk radio has now advanced to the point where we proactively denounce commentary that has yet to be made?

By the way, here's a closer look at Mallett. If he was able to handle the scrutiny of a Belichick interview, my guess is that he'll be able to handle questions from the media as well.

Bill Belichick says that the connection he felt with Ryan Mallett helped him overlook off-field issues | masslive.com

When I searched "Ryan Mallett" I saw a link from a familiar antagonist, Mike Freeman of CBS Sports. I'm not going to bother linking because the except was enough to cause me to not bother linking. The headline was 'drafting Mallett may be a gamble Belichick regrets' and the excerpt mentioned Corey Dillon and Randy Moss as being 'jackasses'. For at least the next 48 hours I would suggest that Freeman is more deserving of the wrath and venom of Patriots fan for his comments than Felger is.

.

All good points; but remember that almost everything said today on this forum is to "proactively denounce" the Patriots picks. :) It is part of the game so I don't feel too out of line speculating on what Felger will say.

Felger reads this forum so maybe he will flip and start rooting for Mallet. However I clearly remember that historic moment when he flipped on the Patriots last season and was positive and upbeat about them and predicted that they would beat the Jets in the playoff...but if he and the other jackals are true to form and spit venom on Mallet then we can expect a long and illustrious career from Mallet.

it takes some people longer to mature than others. I'm still not mature yet and i am closer to 30 than 20.

the kid screwed around (like most kids do) and now he needs to grow up if he hasn't already. if he went straight to Arizona to start immediately QB he might fail and be like ryan leaf. But now that he's going to sit on the bench for 3+ years and learn from GOAT coach AND qb, he will probably grow up and could be amazing.

now im going to go pick my nose and throw rocks at trains.

smell ya later,

I think one of the ideas that BB had is to hve these idiots talk about mallett instead of him

Or don't listen or read what they say. And don't post what they write and say on a message board. Or, don't care about what they are going to write or say and don't post it on a message board.

Does it occur to people that repeating what the 3 above mentioned Stooges say or write, plays right into their hands?

But those are just suggestions and options, people can do what they want.

Look - even those numbnuts should be able to comprehend that for the #74 pick, BB grabbed the guy who quite a few consider the highest ranked QB in the draft. Mallet just has to behave and he's potentially worth a 1st rounder in trade.

Heck - seems to me BB may have even kept him out of the hands of the Dolphins who were picking not long after the Pats - I have to think they at least had their eye on Mallet, who they did work out.

Though it is clear to me that even the Patriots were sending Mallet a message though.

They could have picked him with #73 but chose not to, making him slide one more pick to take him with their next lower pick. That's a subtle message but one Mallet might want to recognize.

Hopefully Mallet takes sliding in the draft in the same way Brady did.

I'm pissed at everyone for the things they might say.

Yeah it is a pretty intersting and subtle message. Kind of saying, hey look kid you're the lower one on the totem pole of the guys we took on Day 2. You've got to earn everything you get. It won't be handed to you.

Just having fun with you Fred, I couldn't resist :) ...

Monday should be a very interesting day on the local radio stations. Aside from hearing how the twelve hosts of the six shows on the two stations critique the Pats draft, it will also be interesting to see how all of them balance the amount of time given to each of the four sports teams.

Disappointed this isn't about Felcher vs a block of wood on a stem.
