The size comparisons are there.....could he be the next Big Ben in 4 years from now?

Mallett 6'6 241
Roethlisberger 6'5 238

Now if his talent becomes as common as size against Ben,then we have a good future at QB...as long as he stays away from drugs and college women :)

Then again he could be a Jamarcus Russell .....time will tell

I dont get the comparisons to Bledsoe, he's much quicker on his feet and more mobile than Bledsoe ever was. Bledsoe played like he had cement shoes and had no pocket presence. I dont know much about this guy because I never thought we'd get him.

You're commenting on Mallet's talent, yet you don't know much about him?

The guy is talented, no one is denying that. But the criticisms on his feet and pocket presence are not off-base. He is way closer to Bledsoe than he is to Big Ben.

Without looking,How big was Bledsoe in stature?

Not commenting about his overall talent, Ive seen him play, hes more mobile than Bledsoe, thats all Im saying. Whether he's comparable to Big Ben or Bledsoe in other areas, I have no idea.

He has a flacco/Roethlisberger type arm. Lets hope he matures.

The only thing that Ben and Ryan have in common is size. Ben can throw on the move, while Ryan is much more like Peyton Manning or Tom Brady or Drew Bledsoe. He is a pure pocket passer, whose mobility is a side step shuffle inside the pocket.

Ben is dumber too, with a lower Wonderlic and IQ.

Neither ben nor Ryan has Wonderlics in the teens like Jamarcus, Young or Vick though.

Ben scored a 25.
Mallet scored a 26 - in an era where the players PREP for the exam.
Neither makes the word "genius" come to mind.

No, he's not.

I've followed both Bledsoe and Mallett collegiate careers, and they are similar in speed and pocket presence. I would even dare to say that Bledsoe was probably a little faster, running straight ahead.

In fact, coming out of college, Bledsoe was said to have good mobility for a 6'5'' guy. In his rookie year he did move pretty good, but I think the hit against the Bills in '93 (when he came back from the knee injury), where his back bent 90 degrees in the wrong direction, probably convinced him to run around as little as possible.

On the run, Mallett throws much better than Bledsoe did though. But at the pro level, with his lack of speed, I don't think Mallett will run many bootleg plays.

I want a 4-5 year deal for Mallet but with DRUG clauses that protects us.

This guy is the next Brady for us.

Hoyer will fetch a 2 watch:) go to zona u Spartan
