I will keep this short as I have been drinking heavy since the back to back RB picks.....the QB we took is just a faint memory now:)

#17 Prince Amukamara - No one thought we would have had a shot at this kid. To get the second best corner to play nickle right away really makes me scratch my head.

#28 Cam Heyward - We get our DE who would be surrounded by great NFL pros like Wilfork, Warren, Strout ect. He would have made an impact right away from what I have seen of him.

#33 Da'Quan Bowers - Man this guy just lives in the backfield and would have helped big time in 2011. Top 5 talent to slip due to injury but at #33 sign him for 4 years and re-evaluate when you have more info then any other team medically on him.

Of course all these are sexy picks but if you told me in January that we would have had a shot at all three I would have been a very pleased. Note I do realize OL was not addressed but I am sure BB would figure out something.

I feel exactly the same way. The way this draft fell it could have been perfect for the Pats.

17. Solder- they obviously like this guy so I can live with this pick
28. Heyward/Wilkerson- We will regret not taking either of these guys, especially now they are playing for two of our biggest rivals
33. Dowling- They obviously like this guy too, and if they see him as a FS and trade Meriweather than I really like the pick
49. Da'Quan Bowers-There will be 31 teams in the NFL that will regret not taking a chance on this guy. He will be a beast and the best player out of this draft. With Washington on the clock and looking to trade down why not move up little and take a chance on this guy.
74. Mallet/RB/OG/DE/trade/whatever you want- This is now a luxury pick and you can take a risk on a guy like Mallet

Sure we man not have gotten a 2012 first, but we could still have traded Meriweather and Mankins for future picks.

Quality OT's are find to find outside the first round. And unfortunately in this draft, 5 technique DE's went fast and furiously in early.

Agreed, not picking my boy Wilkerson is the hardest pill to swallow...especially since he got snatched up by the jests.

Isn't that the truth. And then BB did it again by letting Ellis fall to the jets.

I think Solder can handle Wilkerson but Koppen is going to need help with Ellis.

With Ellis and Wilkerson the Jets did a damn good job of keeping their D-line very dangerous.

Really? You think we need to get even a few year younger on defense..... Last year did not really tell us much about what we have on Defense (were too injured). You wanted all these guys though?

WTF????? As Tedy said.... there is such a thing as too young, and we're getting there. The only place we were really old on this team was RB..... and that's addressed.

The ONLY one on your list I'm tempted to agree with is Bowers, but there is something there that none of us all know. I'm convinced of it.

That is exactly the point I am making, we did nothing for a weak front seven; which we need to rename Wilfork and the six pretenders.

Meanwhile as BB is trading for next year picks, the jets are gobbling up 5 technique guys with every pick. Guys that could have helped us this year!

#17 Cameron Jordan

#28 Ingram

#33 Ijalana

or

package 17 with some late round picks to move up to

#15 Ryan Kerrigan

#28 Muhammad Wilkerson / Cameron Heyward

#33 Ryan Williams

With no free agency yes the draft was the way we would try to fill some holes and youth is what the draft is all about. The point of my post was to show that we had a shot at three impact defensive players who BB all passed on.

Watching college football last season and Leshoure was a great fit for the Pats IMO so I was surprised to see a tandem picked with different skill sets. BB likes the committee system so this morning I understand the pick better after some thought. To get Leshoure and Demarco Murry I thought would be a better tandem but that is just me.

On Film all three would have been a blessing to our defense even if we took all three.

At least 2 were available at 17, Wilkerson and Cam Jordon, and still picked up a top OT like Carimi.

Murray looks real good, but is injured almost as much as Dowling.

Leshoure is reported to have an abrasive personality and is considered a bit of a locker room cancer.
