There's a pleasant surprise: went over to CBS expecting to see the Oakland - Houston game and I'm getting MIA - JAX instead. Obviously no sellout in Oakland. Go Jax.

I've been in California for 3 years now and when the 2nd games start, even though it's 1:00 here, I still think it's almost time for dinner -:) Tuna's new PK missed his 1st attempt. Gonna swithc between that game and the Miami/Jags game.

What are the Giants doing wearing red? You make the Cowboys wear their blue uni's on the road. They don't play the same in the blue, they probably have a losing record in them.

Miami got some ticky tack calls their way, then Joey got intercepted in the end zone and started crying for another call. I'm sick of bad officiating, but at least no Miami score.

Where in Cal are you? I'm in the Santa Clara Valley. Agree about time for dinner. I smell spaghetti sauce with sausage, meatballs and short ribs cooking. Bring it!

Plaxiglass late hits a Cowboy to stall a Giants drive then goes on the sidelines and talks back to Coughlin. Deja vu? What a dysfunctional team. Some of these Giants deserve to be flipping burgers not earning millions.

I read somewhere that Jason Taylor was just injured against the Jags. Anybody know the severity?

And is this thread meant for general discussion about the 4:00 games?

I didn't see Taylor's injury, but will watch and report if they say anything.

OK with me, might as well.
Edit, Taylor's playing, announcers saying good news for Miami, so I guess he was injured somehow in the first half.

I think this game was the first time i've seen Jacobs not convert a 4th and 1.

Didn't want to turn it into one without permission.

Gramatica hits a 41 yard FG right down the center at the end of the half. 10-7 Cowboys.

Olindo Mare missed a 42 yard FG. Still 17 - 7 Jax.
Miami is done, stick a fork in 'em. 24 - 7, mid fourth. I still expect them to play the Patriots very tough, something like UCLA vs. USC yesterday (but with a different outcome).

I know this is off-topic technically, but I can't find a 1 pm game thread.

Did anyone watch the Chicago-Minnesota game? ESPN calls the Bears' 23-13 defeat of the Vikings a "mauling." 4 int, one for a TD, and a safety indicate some pretty potent defense...OTOH, the Vikings did put up 348 yards of offense, including a shocking (on paper) 192 yards on the ground in a game in which they trailed the entire game. Moreover, the Bears managed a putrid 108 yards, including a rather hilarious 34 yards through the air by Grossman (who contributed his own troika of interceptions to the Viking cause), for a 1.8 ypc average.

Both teams also had an appalling number of penalties, especially the Vikes, and three fumbles were lost between them.

Now, I did not see the game, so this is all based on stats. But Chicago is simply not looking like a super bowl team anymore...

Gramatica is about to get the chance to win the gamne for the Cowboys. Right now it's going to be about a 45 yarder.

AND IT'S GOOD.

Stick a fork in the NYG.

Tough day for the Manning family. LOL

Vandershank never would have made that. Didn't think Dramatica would either after Flozelle false started. Perhaps fear of the Tuna is a good motivator for the little kicker. And Bill owes Bill for the good advice.

It was funny to see his new teamates trying to restrain him from going airborn.
