As none of you know, I am in the solder business. About 10 years ago I set up a Google Alert so that every time the word "solder" appeared in an online article, I would get an email with a link to it. I've done that to keep up with industry news. Works pretty well.

Starting about 7 years ago I would get an alert now and then about this kid named "Solder" and how he was doing in high school football. I would read some because of my interest in football. When he was getting recruited for college the articles increased, and then decreased again until he became a semi-star. The last couple of years I'd see one once every 2 weeks or so.

Then when the draft talk started kicking up I'd get more and more of these articles, up to several per day. It was actually getting a little annoying...

And then today!

I feel like I've followed this kid his entire career and now that he's on the Pats - feels awesome.

Needless to say, I'm getting a Solder jersey for me and my boss.

I know, cool story bro and BFD ... I'm just a little blown away now.

So you have stalked him for a while?

good story. Hope he pans out. Has a good frame to work from and a good coach to learn from. Win Win

I should have known you'd stick to "business" and not hire on with Carimi's Kosher Cheese and Chicago Turnstyle Cutlery. :woot:

Soooooo...you're in the 'solder' bismuth eh? ;)

I think its was pretty brazing of you to make this draft pick so ego-centric.

Personally, I was sure we'd see Solder on the Steelers.

Anyway, I think you will agree that after rounds two and three we can look forward to this forum acetylene down.

Sorry.

:D

How cool is that! Nice to see you did not get any police blotter stuff on the kid, either. I wonder how quickly they'll start selling a "Solder" jersey, though?

Very well done!

What's amazing is that this kid comes from LEADVILLE!!

It's like it was meant to be.

You better not melt out there, solder!

Much too much, unfortunately. No kid dreams of getting into solder.

I'm told that when I was young, all I talked about was the melting points of metal alloy. Day and night. I slept with a hot knife under my bed.

But, of course, there comes a time when every child has to put aside his fantasy and become pragmatic. So, instead, I went to Houston and became an astronaut and put aside my childish dreams of brazing.

Interesting stuff. I guess this pick was fated then. LOL. Care to share any of your favorite Solder articles?

Based on my Google Alerts, maybe John Patriots?

So PJ, now that Solder is coming to NE, how will that effect you ability to attend games with the restraining order.

What?! You're not a Labor Lawyer or faux Appellate Judge? Get out of here now!

In rea life I'm a dancer, but I'm trying to break into a career in welding.
