Another trade at #33.

And then next year, we trade the Seattle second for a pick in 2013....etc etc. And from 17, 28, and 33 we wind up with Solder and three late round seconds. Huh? And by the way, no team with #1 next year is going to trade the Andrew Luck spot.

Instead, why not be bold?

Why not take a gamble on premium talent?

Take Mallett at 33 and be done with it.

HILARIOUS!!

State the obvious

Pats have refined draft mgmt

1 #1 to pick and pay and one #1 to .....................
Get as many two and threes for better chance of talent payoff for less $$$$

The Pats wouldn't touch Mallet with a 10 foot pole. They'll gladly relinquish the chance to draft him at #33 to another team though IF the Price is Right!

i'm up for trading 33 to Seattle... for 1st next year and a 3rd this year... along those lines. I think they will tank this year and hopefully they will acomplish what oakland failed to and get us a top 10 pick

I just can't wait to get up and just find out whose gonna get hosed. You know it's coming. Someone's gonna panic and cough up a first next year and trade up like 8-20 spots to 33. My guess is Wash at 41.

the pats walk away with 4 quality guys in the first 2 rounds, just like they were expected to.......... plus a couple more firsts to mess around with for next year.

Bank it.

Huh?

You want the Pats to take Mallett at 33?

if im the pats, i trade with the bengals, that team is almost sure to be in the basement for the next decade.

AJ Green? what a joke.

Patriots Trade #33 and #92 in exchange for #35 and 2012 First round pick.

^^^^^^^^^^ MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Stupid Oakland... the Pats could had landed all those picks from Atlanta, instead of giving them away to Cleveland so as to draft Julio Jones.

Unfortunately that auction might also include those interested in Brooks Reed.

Someone pointed out on the radio that if you're calling someone who's on the clock, it's pretty much mandatory that you say who you plan to take.

I think if that had transpired as you suggest, about 30 GMs/owners would be descending on Tom Dimitroff with pitchforks and torches, ;) and Goodell would find a way to take away the 2012 1st. . . .

Pick 33: trade (hopefully to a terrible team) for a 1st rounder next year.

Picks 56 & 60: pick best player available (there are 5 intriguing receivers left - Titus Young, Torrey Smith, Randall Cobb, Leonard Hankerson & Jerrel Jernigan).

3rd round picks: trade for 2nd rounders next year.

The results? This year: Solder + who we'd pick at 56 & 60.
Next year: three 1st rounders and three 2nd rounders!

It is mandatory because the team that agrees to the trade has to turn in the trade card and announce it to the NFL. That's why the trade the Ravens tried to make with the Bears got flubbed. Someone at the Bears organization forgot to turn in the trade card to alert the league.

The Ravens clock ran out and KC rushed their pick in and selected ahead of them. The Ravens still ended up getting the corner they wanted - Jimmy Smith, but they didn't get the trade down they wanted with the Bears which would have netted them an extra 4th.

51 minutes to go..............still quiet

Schefter..............Oakland trying to move up from #48 for a QB.

BB...." bit of a quarterback derby going on" now at top of2nd.

BB tells ESPN he is working on something with Reid & Philly. from Young of Globe

33 is worth a 1st next year plus that teams 2nd rounder this year.

I have to admit 3 1st round picks in a rookie wage cap year would be pretty sweet.

lombardi reporting Pats and Raiders talking trade for 33.
