Book Value on that 2012 1st Rounder is #21 @ 800 Points x 50% = 400 Points.

#28 for #56 + Saints 2012 1st = 660 Points for 340 + 400 = 740 Points.

We just JACKED them!! :rocker:

Except that NO is probably going to be very good next year. I wish the Pats had their draft....

i agree. i guess we did "whack" them...but then again i thought we "wacked" Oakland last year. at some point you have to actually "use" the "wacked" picks. This collecting picks thing to never use them is really getting pretty old.

I can't tell you how stoked I am about this. Not only do we get to pick in the sweet spot at 56. But next year we can now use our additonal first rounder to complete our offensive line transformation and select Mike Brewster, our future center to go along with our future bookends. Dynasty!!!

i cant wait till we use our second first round pick next year to get a second first round pick in 2013.....

You realize that if he does this every year, he's getting that 2nd round pick free, right?

yes...but do you realize that if he does this every year hes trading a first for a second every year?

Which means we basically get a FREE 2nd rounder for simply waiting a year. Not bad.

False. He's trading one first for one first and an infinite number of 2nds.

Even better if we swap the entire Draft next year for some third and fourth rounders in 2018!
Cool!

it is bad...waiting for what? if you never use the first round pick but you use the second, then we are trading a first for a second every year...its not a "free" second rounder. it cost us a first round pick. if it was a 2nd this year, and a first AND second next year than its a free pick. of course im operating under the status quo which is to collect first round picks to use to collect future first round picks. how fun.

you cant count the first if you never use it. its for show. thats what im talking about. if he does this every year, than you never make that first round pick.

Cool, As the NFLPA has the Draft considered illegal after this year......nice. I love it.

The spectacularly ignorant bleating in this thread is AWESOME!!

NO pick is likely to be late in the first round. Even packaging both 2012 ist rounders won't get you high up in the draft next year. Guess Bruschi was right. Pats dont want to become too young. Pats may have plans to make moves in free agency.

and don't forget trades

If you're following the draft chart, then it seems the Patriots made out, but if you assume the Saints are the 3rd or 4th best team in the NFC, then the chart values show both teams came out even in this trade.

He still gets an infinite number of 2nd round picks...
