Per his latest tweet:

"After tweeting about how the Bengals should draft a receiver, like AJ Green or Julio Jones, he responded to one of his fan's tweets about the possibility of being a receiver in New England, restating that he wouldn't mind playing with the Patriots."

Obviously no free agent signings can happen until a CBA is agreed upon. Equally as obvious, there's no way BB signs Ocho, friend or not, unless Ocho can check his ego at the door. If those two conditions are met, and the Pats don't draft a WR early in the 2011 draft, who would be opposed or not be opposed to seeing Ochocinco finally wearing a Patriots uniform come 2011? (Supposing again of course that football will still be played in 2011).

Do it! And I think Chad would have to change his name back. Or just look stupid. Hernandez has probably sold too many jerseys to change his number now.

That ego can't be checked at any door. I don't think Chad has a mean bone in his body. But even Welker got in trouble here just jokin around. Football is job 1 here. He's not giving up his shows or his tweets or half baked challenges or his interviews. He's an entertainer who gained a stage because he happens to play football. I know Bill likes him as a person, most do. He probably even admires his talent when on display which will be less and less going forward. But I can't imagine Bill wanting to embrace that player on his own roster where his antics aren't often funny or without at least potential to be harmful...

Chad is looking for a chance to prove he wasn't the problem. Sad fact is he was part of it in Cincy (as was Palmer) and he always had the option of choosing to be part of the solution instead of exacerbating the problem but he simply wasn't interested.

I mean that's great and all, but the Patriots can't really do anything with the current lockout situation.

If X, Y, and Z, then yes.

X=he agrees to chill for a year with his publicity whoring
Y=he agrees to take a major pay cut
Z=he agrees to become a cog in the BB machine, with heavy stipulations in his contract for early release if he doesn't comply

Then by all means, get him.

just not feasible. The personality conflicts between him and BB are too much. BB loves a lot of guys as players, doesn't mean he'd like them to play for him.

If Welker got benched for what he said don't even bother to bring in CJ unless you're going to hold them to different standards, which will cause even more problems.

NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's far more interested in promoting the Brand: OCHOCINCO than promoting the on-field player. Plus, his skill sets have diminished. The Pats can do better than this clown.

NO THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't he under contract next year?

Did I miss him being cut?

BB and he have a good relationship.. and he seems to respect our coach. That is a start.

People. Please stop this foolishness. Chad will not play for the Pats.

What we need are physical receivers that can handle the tough, press coverage the Jets will give us in the playoffs, I don't think Ocho gives us that.

I think BB respects Chad too, because he's a great talent, and is a hard worker. Despite all his sillyness, Chad always has been a hard worker, and always wanted to win.

No but what it does give us is another very good accurate route running wideout who will take up another man and cause disruption.

Hernandez, Gronk, Wes, Branch, Ocho as the top 5? Thats pretty good.

That is why I wouldn't take a WR in the first 3 rounds. Chad would be an excellent low cost short term solution for next year, but he is only ONE of several vets who could come in and add something to the WR corps. DO NOT underestimate the impact those 500 vet FA will make when the flood gates open.....sometime.

How true. So many FA's will be desperate to jump on a team quickly and sign that contract. When the new CBA is approved and going i expect like 60+ free agents to be signed on that day.

Yeah, I'm sure BO'B, BB and Brady want a guy who's going to come off the field after each set of downs barking at one of them that
- the last pass was bad, why can't you throw it where it needs to be?
or
- he was open the last play, why don't you throw it to him more?

There's no way this guy 'checks his ego at the door'. If he catches a TD, he's going to do something to try to glorify himself. Heck, if he catches a pass he might start showboating. If not in game 1, certainly by game 3.

And a previous poster was right - is he really a top receiver anymore? Do Bungles' opponents really bother to game plan for this guy? I doubt it. He's become a possession receiver with a large contract and a big mouth, something the Pats definitely don't need.
