No - I think he means we get their 2nd rounder at 35 AND their 2nd round pick from next year.

The 28/33 picks are very valuable commodities this year - I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them to be parlayed into a 2012 1st round draft choice... plus a later pick in this year's draft.

On the mock draft - WR is one of my biggest priorities in the draft... but if they're not going to move up for one of the top tier, then might as well look for a speedy deep route guy with a pick later in the draft.

As much as Brady likes all around good route runners, having a guy who can beat defenders deep can get the job done pretty well too.

Wilkerson is an alright pick considering that JJ Watt is off the board but your 1st round is messed up because of the lack of Von Miller. I think he changes the complexion of the first round and that affects the rest of the picks. My best guess is that Denver trades out of 2nd to a QB hungry team who takes Gabbert. Von Miller then goes to Buffalo at #3, and Denver still ends up with Dareus as long as they stay in the top 5.

I think Dallas might be more interested in improving their offensive line than their defensive line. And that Houston might have a bigger interest in JJ Watt than in a pass-rusher, although they are basically in the same spot as us regarding their defensive needs.

IDK. When I "translate" the Texans' current roster into Phillips-style 3-4 positions, it appears that they have some guys who are very good fits for DE (and OLB, for that matter), but they may be lacking beef/athleticism at NT. The Skins appear to be in a similar situation, as is KC. Plus, the Steelers' NT is turning 112 years old soon. Seems to me like the Skins or the Texans might make an Alualu-type reach for Phil Taylor (over a DE) before KC or PIT get their shots (though the Skins might also risk trading down a few spots to pick up their missing 3rd-rounder and settle for Ellis in the 2nd for their NT if HOU grabs Taylor).

Dallas' O-line, meanwhile, seemed to be okay in passpro (when healthy), but couldn't run-block for squat, especially up the middle. I'm not saying that they shouldn't/wouldn't be looking for OT before (or in addition to) OG/OC, but with Rob Ryan coming in, he might be looking for something more, ahem, "dynamic" than Olshansky at DE (IOW, it turns out there actually was a reason the Chargers let Olshansky go).

A lot of work. Thank you. IMO not my cup of tea but that is why we discuss all of these. I will use this word next. The Patriots would be STUPID to not cash in all of their chips in 2011. If the Players win, there could be not Draft in 2012 as we know it. Too many variables with this CBA. We can't fill needs that we might have already done, with FA either. Fill from the board next week and worry about the 2012 Draft in 2012. Trades up or down only is the smart way to handle this all. As BB said the other day, at some point you have to start picking players with your choices. Perhaps this is the year.

Can't see Wilkerson anywhere near Kerrigan in the Draft. #17 is way too high for a lumbering DT. We need a pass rusher. I know he is no spring chicken but we just paid for Marcus Stroud if we need a run stuffer and warren, Pryor, Wright and Brace are all coming back. Pass Rusher and Deep Threat are the two most glaring holes.

Leshore is a dancer by all accounts. Been there, have we not? Maybe someone like Murray later on.

I like Watkins but he is gone anything over #33.

People ignore Baldwin but that might be a BB type move at #60?

I actually see a second pass rusher, not just one in this Draft. Perhaps Moch.

I would rather give up #74 and go for Cameron Heywood to move up from #28 to jump over New Orleans who is at #24 rather than trade #28.

It's all fun and speculation and I know you like it but I would be very disappointed if this was our Draft. Devastated!....IMO

I think 28, 33, and 92 is too much to give up for 10, I don't have the value of the draft picks memorized so I could be wrong.

Other than that I like this draft a lot and if we keep another one of those traded picks then it would look nicer.

Definately don't see BB giving up that much for an offensive player. Especially on a prolific offense that the Pats fielded last year...If the trade up was for a top defensive player I might be a little less surprised. I just don't think he moves up above the 12-13 spot if he does move up. He could then recoup that lost pick trading down later.

Agree we some other posters that a trade out into 2012 probably isn't a wise move, but BB usually trades out in most drafts....
