Not sure which games bother me more; Seattle/Denver or Miami/Jacksonville. It is so easy to root against Denver, but it would be nice to see that 1st rounder from Seattle get better.

And I just decided I absolutely cannot root for the Dolphins in any way shape or form. Go Jaguars!

The hell with the first rounder, alwlays root for another loss for a competing team for playoff spots.

Also, never root for a division rival.

SEATTLE AND JAX ALL THE WAY
no brainers.

I live in Las Vegas, team loyalty is one thing, but money is another, I'm taking the Dolphins at plus 1.5. ( That means the "phins need to win by 2)

I'm also taking the Seahawks to cover +3.5,(lose by no more than 3) I think they'll win outright. Plus I'm taking the Pats, I never take the Pats because I never know if I betting with my head or heart, but this week I think the Pats will cover nicely. And to round out my parley, I got the Jets by 2 over the Pack.

I am rooting for Hawks to beat Denver (forget about 1st ronder until March - I do not want to play Denver - their D gives Brady fits) and for Jax to beat the fins tro make the pats-fins game down the road relatively unimportsnt to the fins...

Denver in the one game. Don't care about the other.

I agree...I can never root for Miami. I think we need to root against Denver. They are my #1 play off concern.

The reason I'm rooting for Denver is a Denver win definitely helps the draft choice whereas a Seattle win only maybe helps our playoff chances. I'll take the definite help over the maybe help.

Gotta eliminate Denver, so will go with Seattle and pro Jacksonville, only because I dislike Miami and they need to have a couple of losses this time of year, so we don't hear the hype all winter long about how good they are because they had a great second half of the season.

What you said. It's a no brainer.

Using my brain, I root for Miami here. They're not a viable playoff threat (they lose to us next week) and always root for division rivals to get lower draft picks.

100% RIGHT - are you kidding me?? MUST get rid of Denver - I don't want to see them in the playoffs, here or there - no thank you - Cutler is going to be a good one.

Miaimi - please, don't need to see them have a chance at playoffs thank you.

Obviously fans here subconsciously believe that we can't beat Saban & Harrington of Miami in a playoff game. Major lack of confidence in the team. Sad.

I take the position that I want Miami and any division rival to have LATE draft picks so that they do not have a strong advantage vs Belioli.

We play Jax also.

Sweet, I'm on my own on this one :D

The Donks are dirty and have the officials in their pockets (see last two games the Pats played them). Definitely don't want to see another season end on "officiating" bias. Nothing like your team having another team shut out with less than 2 minutes to go in the half when they throw a desperation pass and NE gets a 100% indisputably wrong and indefensible PI call handing them a TD.

The Phins? Is anyone kidding me here? The Phins? The only time to root for a division rival is if two division rivals are playing each other. And then you root for the one with the worst record. Anyone who doesn't understand that just isn't really a fan of their team.

Not sure about that, it's always nice to see their draft choices moving down.

So you'll be rooting for the Chargers (over Buffalo) this week and the Colts (over Miami) in a few weeks, NEM?

That's senseless.

Yes, because say a 6th round QB could never help a team.
Don't be stupid, draft choices are no guarantee but we'd all prefer Miami to pick, say, 17th over, say, 12th. Or does that make me "not a real fan", oh Supreme Judge of Fans ?

Once division teams are not competing with you there are reasons to root for them (including Strength of Schedule and Strength of Victory tiebreakers).

Thank you!

Any time a division rival is essentially eliminated from competing for the division title, screw the rivalries (hell, some of them have died in recent years). You HAVE TO root for them, especially when your team's seeding depends on them beating opponents that YOUR TEAM competes with.

Agreed, I should have added the caveat of playoff schedule (but, I'm still waking up). So you'll be rooting for Miami to win out? WooHoo! 10-6 here they come.

I can't believe people worry so much about next year and the draft. Yes, in a black and white world they would improve with lower draft picks. But, the difference between a good team and a great team has a lot more to do with intangibles other than picking a few good groceries. Especially unripe ones. Let them get a decent player in the draft and lets beat them. I'm not going to worry about next year's draft in week 12.
