2011 Patriots Schedule Released
By: Ian Logue

The Patriots officially released the 2011 NFL Schedule Tuesday night, and here's a look at how this year - provided it starts on time - will play out....

I like it. Seems to be a well paced schedule. On the road against the Steelers after the bye week. Wrap up the season with 2 home games. Much more managable than last season's. Now if they can just settle things and play.......

Anyone going to a Pats road game should join Patriots Tailgate

We are already collecting money for group tickets for the Oakland and Denver games.

NBC got the good ones. I was hoping the Monday night games would be Eagles or Giants. Especially Giants. Would this be the first Pats/Giants regular season game since the Super Bowl?

Yes, but the first MNF is usually a divisional game. Rarely is it a intra-conference rivalry game. Never an inter-conference game.

The first six homes games are 4:15 or later......WTF!!!! Even more maddening 12 of the 16 games to be played are 4:15 or later..seriously again ....WTF!

Seriously?
THREE Sunday 1pm games? THREE?
Really? And one is on New Year's Day. Two of them are in the flex period.
It is possible the Patriots play one Sunday 1pm game.

So much for a Sunday afternoon schedule.
That's ridiculous.

Starting on Monday night just delays the season as long as possible, if, in fact, they play on opening weekend.

I love starting at Miami at night, and having Miami in NE on Christmas eve. That sets up a potentially hot weather game in Miami, although the evening dulls the sun impact, and a cold weather game in NE.

Two home games to finish the season is nice. Home advantage if they need it to close out the AFC. Closing out Redskins, Broncos, Dolphins, Bills is nice if they need a four-game run.

I just wish they had a few normally scheduled games.

Only four 1:00 games. And from Nov 13 to Dec 4 there are 3 night games in 4 weeks. The first part of the season looks pretty good, but there will be 6 tough games in a row after the BYE week. It is what it is.

i gotta say i like the later games, with the time zone i usually cant watch the 1 pm games. I do like this schedule, i just wish we played the Jets at home second instead of first

A few years ago the NFL and the networks came to a strategic decision that Sunday night had become a better/more popular time than Monday night for football/# of viewers and ratings. That's why there's been a shift from better games on MNF, to better matchups on SNF.

There's a more natural flow for football viewers from the 1:00 game to the 4:15 game to the Sunday night game. Sunday night gets higher ratings and NBC pays more for SNF than abc/espn does for MNF, so it makes sense that SNF is going to better matchups than MNF does.

As to your other question: yes, this will be the first time the Pats play the Giants since the Super Bowl. With the rotating schedule it will be the first time the Pats play all four NFC East teams since the '07 season.

Remember the beating the Pats gave the Redskins that year? I'm sure Washington fans haven't forgotten, and if they have the media will surely be right there to remind them that week. Game against the Eagles the media will play up the '04 Super Bowl rematch angle; will former Senator Comcast have something to say?

With the national exposure of the Pats schedule and more than half of these games on national TV,I really wonder if a fan who primarily watches the Pats play would be unwise to get the Sunday Ticket this year?

Tough decision with this schedule and game times

Good question. I switched from ComCast to Direct TV and will get the Sunday Ticket if needs be. However, it looks like i can get everything locally so far.

I like the schedule, especially the last 4 games. Gonna be a GREAT season!

As a fantasy geek I like the fact that there are few 1pm starts, because that means half the bar's tvs won't be occupied with Pats.

I'm hoping to score tickets in DC for that Skins game. I hear they sell for under $30 there?

The moment I saw that the Cowboys were playing at Foxboro on 10/16/11 we started burning up the computer for flights, hotels, etc. My one worry, besides the lockout of course, is where to buy tickets. Being from Texas I'm a babe in the woods when it comes to Patriot tickets. Could someone help a Patriots fan fullfill his dream of watching New England beat Dallas at Gillette stadium? Is ticket brokers reliable and not charge more than my house payment, would you wait till game day and just go out to the stadium and try and buy some out there. I'm just looking for the best option, don't really care where we sit, just as long as we get in.
Thanks for any help you can give.

a lot of 4:15 games this year, surprising because of so many 1:00 starts last year.

Best prices are to be found on eBay. Just buy from a reputable seller and pay via PayPal. But I would advise waiting until the tickets are distributed around late July to early August.
