He and the Pats are paying the way for 6 New England based Pop Warner teams to go to Florida for the National Championships.

I coached a team years ago, and I don't know if you guys know this, but you have to replace the kid's football helmets every three years, it gets very expensive, very fast, so extra money for a trip such as this would be very hard.

Being from one of the towns that now gets to go I know it will mean a great deal to a lot of people. The kids had been selling raffle tickets around town and they had a telethon on local cable access but were still short. Thanks to Krafts and the Pats!

Even if that were true - how significant do you think a $40,000 tax break is to Bob Kraft? Or rather, how insignificant do you think it is?

And do you understand how tax breaks work? Contributing $40,000 to a non-proft doesn't equate to $40,000 he's not paying in taxes. It's $40,000 deducted from his income - and his income determines how much in taxes he pays.

Do people understand you don't actually "make money" by contributing to charity?

In a way it's simply a way for people who pay taxes to effectively have a little bit more say in where their taxes go - in this case, to a Pop Warner Football team instead of to Washington to support things like pro-tobacco programs and anti-tobacco programs.

Do you think the Pop Warner administrators and the Families care why he donated the money? Do you think any charity truly cares why someone donates the money?

Find another way to take a dig at Kraft, I am sure you and few other zipperheads who linger around here can find other ways to accomplish that and they might have a little more validity to them.

There still are those Old Boston Dinosaurs who are happy that Southie is filled with parking lots of glue-sniffing suicidals instead of the Patriots football stadium.

The same guy spent 200K resodding the field and then 750K installing field turf and you try to make a tax break (at best worth $5,000) seem significant. Do you think either of those companies need charity contributions of $40,000 to get them noticed?
