I must rush to get my tickets for these 4 games that probably wont even take place.

I hope they can get their asses in gear before the preseason, I'd love to go to the Detroit game - probably the only game I could afford for the next two years.

Damn it, they're playing in Tampa and I'll be deployed. Hopefully in November when I get home I can afford to fly the family to Foxboro for a game.

Great. IF these games are played, we get the two worst ones at home -- first and fourth.

The first game always has the "OMFG, I FINALLY GET TO WATCH THE PATS AGAIN" factor and the atmosphere always seems to be better than the other 3 (which really doesn't say much).

Just curious, Tune - do you go to preseason games? I haven't been to one in about 15 years. They are such a hassle to get to (they are usually on a week night at 7:00 p.m. - can you say RUSH HOUR), and then the starters only play for what seems like 5 minutes. I don't even bother, and most of the time I can't even give my tickets away.

Yes, I go to them. I just treat it as a summer evening out and like watching the rookies/free agents. Being self-employed affords me the luxury of leaving early enough to avoid the bad traffic. But having the fourth preseason game at home is the worst of the worst, because the starters play little if any, everything is vanilla and the crowd is sparse because it's a Thursday night. A few years ago I sold my fourth-game tix to a guy who wanted to take his young boy to see the Pats (he paid full price). The game was so lame and I felt so guilty about it I apologized to him a few days later.

But I'd rather they keep four preseason games vs. expanding the regular-season to 18 games. Ideally, they should just drop two preseason games and replace them with controlled scrimmages, but that never will happen. I think the Krafts should do some novel things to make preseason games more fun -- like a pre-game concert, giveaways, contests, etc., etc. That would help.

Best of luck and travel safe. Hopefully nothing happens on your deployment.

Does anyone give a damn. They will not have the money issue sorted out. The entire lot of them are greedy ego driven idiots.
